suggestion to infiniti, audio system upgrade

Does anyone know of the best way to make an official suggestion to Infiniti?

I am really disappointed that the audio system's compact flash player does not allow lossless .wma files to play. For some reason, they restricted the compact flash system to only play compressed audio (mp3 and wma) which really degrades the quality of the music and does not do this system justice. I wonder if they could release a flash upgrade to the audio system that could allow for this adjustment.

Yeah there are about 10 different software upgrades they need to do to the audio system in general. In theory since its a hard drive based system they could release an update but more than likely it will just get updated in a future model year and we will get left out. Such is life.

then tell them it sounds horrible, i hope the '08 has better clearity.....
my '01 jetta had a better sound system than this car.
I am afraid just to add a sub to it, becuase I dont think that will do any justice to sound quality, just giving me a lot of base. I want to add a sub, I was thinking one 12", do I need an amp for my front speakers, or will replacing the stock speakers suffice?

Are you guys saying the SoW setup is the poor one?

Geez, either you guys are TOO picky or your expectations are WAY too high to even bother judging OEM audio setups. The SoW is MORE than enough for me, and I'm pretty picky on what I consider good.

You guys got me just in the right mood tonight because I had a sh!tty day at work.

For all of you owners that b!tch about the the CF or SOW capabilities of the G......just keep one thing in mind........the competition doesn't offer EITHER! Go see how the CF or hard drive capabilities work in a TL, IS, or 3 Series.........oh yeah....none of them have it whatsoever.

Look, what I am saying is that while the implementation of the CF or HD features of the G are not perfect to a tee, at the end of the day they work DAMN good! And the fact that NO OTHER manufacturer in it's class offers those capabilities has to mean something. Some of you people seem to expect the features of a $150k car with a $35k sticker price.

Anyways, I am usually not this forthright.........but I am just having one of those days.

How does the system tell the difference between an uncompressed WMA file and a compressed WMA file? I assume if it has the right format/extension, it will play.

So, how long have you worked for Infiniti?
I have to agree 100% with what you've said.

I would agree that the audio quality of the CF is not up to the standards set by the rest of the system ... which are pretty damn high. IMO the SOW is the best audio system I've ever heard in any car. Playback from CD, Music Box, FM or SAT radio, and iPod via input jacks is outstanding. I doubt I will use the CF for anything other than "missing title searches" and probably some audio files of speeches or other talks that I download from the Internet. I think that's really what the CF is for....temporary files that you want to listen to a few times, then delete and replace with something else.

Really? This is what I listen to most of the time. But hey, to each his own.

WHAT !? You obviously have not been in many cars. I'm not saying the system in this car is bad .... it's about what I expected but its no where NEAR the Mark Levinson in my friends GS.

people that say "the bose system sounds worse than my toyota/vw/nissan" just bug me.. I consider myself a huge audiophile and ALTHOUGH this system doesnt have enough bass, it's still an amazing system..

IS there a way to delete just ONE song, instead of having to delete an album, reburn that album without the song you wanted to delete, record back to SOW (= PITA).

Yes - you can select one song then delete it... where are you having problems?

As for the Levinson system... meh. My friend has one and he likes the SOW better. We both listen to Jazz - maybe that makes a difference. The SOW makes it sound like a live performance. The levinson seems over-processed.
Again, IMO.
