Remote Windows

Hello,
I am looking at getting a G35 from a 2006 A4, In my A4 I had the software and cable to go into the car and change settings around as I pleased.. I know with the G35 it has the capability of remote windows is this something I would have to ask the dealer to do before I picked up the car?

You can roll down the windows remotely by holding the unlock button for several seconds, but if you want to roll them up remotely you need to install a module from kptechnologies.com.

you can also roll them up by sticking your key in the door and turning it right and hold. but becareful though... I rolled it up once then tried to see if turning it left would bring it down(didnt work). Next morning I couldn't start coz the battery was dead. I didnt really bother to investigate what caused the actual drain but I would suggest not using that feature too much.

I remotely raise and lower my windows all the time and I've never had a dead battery from it. In fact, I raised and lowered them while my car was in the garage today about 3 times and my car will start up no problems tomorrow.

I loved the auto up/down remote feature on my Audi. On the G35 you can only roll the front windows down with the remote unless you get the premium package, then you can do all 4 windows. I dont think you can roll then back up though.

The range is actually quite far.. not sure why yours isn't.
It's the same range as the lock feature.

And why would you roll them down and then need to roll them up again remotely? It's hot. roll them down as you approach. Auto-up flick them up when you get in... simple.
