I don't think the 3.7 will find its way into the sedan.

The 2007 G35 Sedan already has the same performance as the G37 due to its lighter weight. If the VQ37VHR did find its way into the sedan, I would imagine that it would be significantly faster than the G37 unless some weight was added.

I think the sedan is fine with the VQ35HR; as long as they implement the VVEL technology into it, there's no reason to get the 3.7.

Yup, I had the Cayman (not the Cayenne) and a Mazda Protege 5 (my kid car). Neither one worked in the winter (the Cayman never came out of the garage). Since I have kids, I figured I should get a car that worked during the winter, thus the purchase of the G.

As for handling, the Cayman was vastly superior in every way, shape and form. By the stopwatch, the G is faster in a straight line but the Cayman feels faster (better connection to the performance). All-in-all, I really like my G, but whenever I hear a Porsche boxer engine start up I start to drool a little.

yeah i don't think you can compare a porsche's handling especially since that is what they're known for to a g35. even though the cayman might not be as powerful as the 911's, it's still a porsche and can handle anything.

as for hearing about the g37 sedan, i hope that doesn't happen.

I don't even think about comparing the two (unless I get asked about it). I am very happy with the G (most likely because they are so different). Since I has to do something, I thought about downgrading to something like a Saturn Sky Red Line and a Saturn Vue (as my winter and kid car), but decided that I would be very disappointed in both of them. Yes, I would have a toy, but neither one would make me happy. Thus my G, which I am really happy with.

Done with the hijack...

As for a G37 sedan, I don't know if it will happen, but it all depends on what everyone else does and how much more power they can wring out of the 3.5L. The fact that they came out with the 3.7L for the coupe makes me think there isn't a lot more (easy) hp that Nissan can get out of a NA 3.5L. And that's why they had to bump displacement for the coupe.

i'm glad you didn't get the saturn sky or vue! that would've been painful, i think you went with the best possibly decision. the g35 can be your any car imo. you have the X model so it's perfect for winter and safety for your kids, while still having enough ***** in the engine to bring out the kid in you. i could only imagine parting with a porsche! i would be having nightmares haha

If they advance the engine and rework the hood/fender line a la the coupe, I will be really tempted to trade. I have an older 911 and while it is not as engaging as a Porsche (there really is NO substitute) the G is every bit as capable.

Ohh, you have now idea how hard it was to get rid of the Porsche. I was married when I bought the Cayman, but we separate shortly after (no, the car had nothing to do with it). So I had been wrestling with the decision for nearly a year.

As for the sky and vue, those weren't my only options for the "toy and practical" route. But I decided to get one car that I would really like that met all of my NEEDS. Now, there are still times when I want a car that I could throw around a little, but the G works well and once it's broken in...

While it was a difficult choice, the G (even the X model) is still a fun car, but he 17s, and All Season tires have to go.

The 350z 07+ has done bone stock 13.2 with a slipping clutch. The car with DR can do high 12s.

Now, the new 3.7L is expected to be in the Z in 2009. 2011 is will get a complete redesign.

Hmm which part? The 350z owners have ran the times on my350z.com. And my350z.com is where the information came from on the 3.7L. It was announced recently by Nissan.

http://www.egmcartech.com/2007/08/03...epower-engine/

The 2009 Nissan 350Z was supposed to get a huge performance upgrade for the 2009 model year. But while the Japanese company is busy planning a hybrid lineup, small sports coupe and the launch of the Nissan GT-R, Nissan has pushed back the next-generation Z.

However on the cards for the next-generation Z is a brand new facelift. But that’s not what we’re interested in. Performance will be upgraded by 30 horsepower as the Infiniti G37’s 3.7 liter V6, 330 horsepower engine will find its way under the hood of the next-generation Z. The car will be called the Nissan 370Z.

Until then you can opt for the Nissan Nismo Type 380RS. The Nissan 370Z will be on the market in late 2010.

You said 09, this says late 2010, presumably as a 2011 model. That article contradicts itself. 2011 is the new design, yet that's when the 370z comes out. I'm really confused...
