G37 Sedan??

Hey everyone. I'm a newb here

I hope this question isn't a "repeat question" that many people have already asked, but it probably is... lol

Anyways, has Infiniti said anything about when they will put the 3.7L in the sedan, so that we have a G37 sedan?

I'd love to get my hands on a G37 Sedan Sport.

Also, what are the current 2007 G35 Sedan's getting in the 1/4 mile?

I also can't decide if I should get the 6MT or 5AT w/ paddle shifters...Anyone regret getting the 5AT over the 6MT? I can drove both just fine, but I'm thinking the auto might be more practical, and aren't they nearly just as fast?

BTW, here is my current ride...I'm wanting to get into a G35/G37 right now, but I think I'm going to wait until late next year or whenever they put the 3.7L in the Sedan...I just bought this truck brand new in September 2006, so I hate to sell it so soon, but every time I see the new G sedan, I feel in love. But I've just now finally got my Titan modded how I want it. Ahh, I want both!! LOL..

Does anyone think it will be in there for the 2009 model? I don't understand why they changed the current 3.5L to up it to 306hp, but they didn't put the 330-hp 3.7L in the sedan like they are doing the coupe..

someone said 3.7l engine was too big for the body. maybe in 2009 when infiniti wants to change the body, it might happen.

I would'nt really care if they did add 3.7 to sedan. It would'nt make me gid rid of my 07 for +24 hp.Throw a factory forced induction system on g sedan with hp like a detuned GTR.......
FOR SALE 07 G35S.

Riiiight. Larger displacement does NOT necessarily mean a physically larger block. That someone who told you that "the 3.7L won't fit in the Sedan" obviously doesn't know jack about engine blocks and what the terms bore, stroke and total engine displacement mean.

I sure do.

Don't know if it's because I'm used to manuals or simply because the AT is a little "too intelligent", which is not always a good thing...

If you want the true freedom to choose your gear whenever you want, get it in stick.

def get the stick...i never once said to myself damn i wish i had the auto. And as far as the sedan getting the g37 motor, the torque the motor produces is virtually the same, so that motor does nothing for me at all.

BTW nice titan...i love titans they are sick trucks, and sound like beast.

True. To play devils advocate though, just because the displacement has changed doesn't mean that was the only change. From what I understand they have done some other changes to the variable valve technology which may have led to some changes on the head leading to a different deck-hood clearance, or maybe the head to cradle clearance.

Do I know this, no, do I think that Nissan can figure out a simple solution if it is the case, absolutely. My guess is that they'll put the 3.7 in the sedan at the end of the life cycle to garner more interest before the next significant change.

Oh I agree with you there. My point was that people often look at displacement numbers alone and go "holy crap" when displacement alone does not determine the external physical dimensions of a block. I'm sure some folks often wonder how GM fits the 7.0L LS7 under the hood of the Z06 until they find out that the motor shares the same bore spacing with the smaller displacement 6.0L LS2 and 6.2L LS3 motors.

It all depends on what the other automakers do. Infiniti has to keep up with the rest. If they can bump some more hp out of the 3.5 and no one else drops a 350-hp engine in their car, don't expect to see a 3.7 engined sedan until ____ (all-new model?, 2010?).

Now if Infiniti wants to come out with a much sportier G (like something to compete with the IS-F), expect them to go the TT route which may or may not mounted to the 3.7L.
