I thought this is something that can be found in the owners manual but I couldn't find it. I am trying to replace my headlights but I can't tell if they are
D2s or D2r or some other type of bulb.

D2S are generally for projector type housings. D2R are generally for reflector type housing. D2C should be notched for both.

They're not dead. I want brighter ones with a nicer color and people seem to be happy with 6000k lights. The ones I am getting are 55w and are $160 a pair.

Seems like everyone answered your questions.
They are D2S, and you aren't gonna get better output with 6000k.
Just only blue color.

Far as output is concerned, keep anywhere from 4100 to 4300k.

Running 55w bulbs with 35w ballasts; not a good idea.
