Music Box?

What is this music box you keep speaking of? I have the 07 with technology. It has the little hard drive, but I never took the time to use it. Is that the music box? Whats so great about it?

The music box is part of the navigation package, and it allows you to record music from an audio CD to the cars hard drive from the indash CD player.

You really ought to read the manual. Or at least watch the CD that came with the Infiniti manual package.

hmmm, Can't remember seeing the cd. But maybe I can get another from the dealer. Thanks for the answers.

two more quick questions, is there a mod that will let me use all of the navigation while moving, and can I play a DVD on the 07. I read the sticky on this site that says you can, but it sounded like they were talking about the older models.

Thanks again for your help.

^^ The car doesn't have a DVD drive and this topic has been discussed to death and locked down.

imo, by today's standards there isn't much that is great about the music box. It can't hold mp3s, only play them back from a CD or CF card. It can "rip" CDs to its own format on the HD, of which there is only 9.5GB left on a 30GB drive.

For many its features are better than what they had, but the fact that mp3 playback is relegated to CDs and CF cards is a step backwards. This means none of the songs are indexed. You can't easily browse for a specific song, artist, or album.

Fortunately things will change a little with the '08 sedan when it comes standard with the iPod inteface which I hear works really well. Unfortunately it is a iPod interface so you have to have and use an iPod for it to work. Not everyone thinks the iPod is that great, but it is a LOT better the Infiniti's Music box/SOW for mp3 playback.

And before someone says it, I'll address it. 9.5GB is NOT enough for many, many people. I know people with a terabyte of music - that's 1,000 GB.... Me? 98% of my listening is done in the car so I prefer to have it all in my car.
