No Cruise Control Over 90MPH?

I tried setting my cruise control and 99mph and wouldn't engage. The best I can do is engage at 80mph and then use controls to 90mph. Anyone else have this problem?!

I want cruise at 99!!!!

It's not a problem, it is the design. I guess the regulators find you shouldn't cruise that fast. It's like that in all cars sold in the US.

First question, where can you legally in the US cruise @ 90MPH?

Exactly. So why does it matter if the cruise control allows you to? just hold your foot on the pedal and pay attention.

Right on.

You can't do that speed anywhere in the US legally, so why would the manfacturer build in this feature? Can you blame them? Some idiot will set the cruise at 95 and then rear end a van and kill a whole family, and then Infiniti will get sued because they allowed the cruise to be operated at illegal speeds.

Plus, it is insanely retarded to cruise going that fast, if you are driving that fact your foot should be on the gas at all times.

It's stupid to go that fast on the street. It's okay to kill yourself but don't take others with you. Save that kind of speed for the track.

Going to Vegas, you want to cruise that fast. And cruise legally, you have no idea how many law your break in a giving day... so don't bring up the legality of the issue. Also, you can rear end someone with the cruise at 80 JUST as easy as you could at 95!!! and most people are killed from drunk driving, drugs, murder and such that someone completely sober and alert on wide open road going 95! Can I blame the factory, yes! If they are going to set limit, be consistent...

How are they not consistent? Cruise Control @ 95mph is ridiculous. Usually when you set your cruise, you take your foot off the pedal and pay less attention to the road. You need to have your foot ON the pedal at all times when travelling at those speeds just in case you need to avoid something etc.

I dont think you are going to win this argument. You are defending the side of COMMON SENSE, he is defending...well, stupidity.

Just because laws are broke everyday, doesnt make it right. And tell that to the judge before he locks you up.

YOU -"judge, do you know how many laws you break a day? Come on, i was only going 99!"

JUDGE - "have fun with bubba"

By the way, great way to welcome yourself to a forum...

so why do we have cars for ex. the G able to go over 100mph if its illegal in every state to go that fast. so from what your saying next time someone gets pulled over in a vette or a camaro or even in a civic doing 100mph its not their fault, only the car manufacurers for letting them go that fast? right...

Right, I'm sure thats what he said. The car is able to go that fast because:

You can take it to the track, thats why!

KulG35,

How the f**k old are you anyway? I would guess somewhere between 18 and 25 - am I close? Whether you realize it or not, your alleged argument shows absolutely no common sense and basically makes you sound infantile.

Bottom line, there is no where in the U.S. where 90+ MPH is legal - yes even when cruising the desert to Vegas. Yes, everyone exceeds the speed limit occasionally, but it will take only one incident where you cause an accident which kills or maims someone, or you get pulled over.

Believe me if you get pulled over for cruising at 90+ MPH, you won't get off with just a ticket. That will probably be the 'last cruise' you will take for a while. And good luck telling the cop your lame a$$ argument about how lot's of people break the law, and how you think causing an accident at 80 or 95 makes no difference. The reality is you are supposed to be in control of your vehicle at all times, and NOT CAUSE ACCIDENTS at any speed.

So, before you try to defend your sorry a$$, think about how stupid your argument really is! And maybe when you grow up, you will understand!

Have a NICE Day!

I have the opposite complaint.. I want to cruise at 25mph or even 20mph when going through residential areas so I dont speed but it wont let you cruise below 35mph..

Not that I agree with cruising over 90MPH or anything but I just wanted to add I got a ticket for going 95MPH and I was being tailgated! I just got a ticket and that was it.. so just because you go over 90MPH doesn't mean you'll go to jail... and I was a minor at the time as well.. (ahhh the days of being young and stupid.... glad those are over!)

I was able to engage ICC at 90mph on my trip to Yosemite last weekend. I also drove at 120 MPH and it felt good at that speed.
