If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You just need to get use to it

you guys who like it just the way it is, fine, if there is a dealer reflash, dont get it.

for the rest, who want a more balanced and controllable car, infiniti should offer a solution.

but it is "broke"

you are missing the point. Some of us prefer a more linear, predictable throttle. Like an earlier post mentioned, this is very important if you want to be on the throttle in the corners on a twisty course. We need to "feel" the throttle at all times. Of course if you just drive on the highway or a pedal masher, then the throttle would not bother you so much.

Well, it seems that there are 3 major opinions here:

1. Drivers who don't like the throttle

2. Drivers who don't like the throttle but got used to it.

3. Drivers who don't mind the throttle the way it is.

Then, there are additional permutations depending on whether the
passenger(s) like or don't like the throttle. Some drivers may like the way it is, but I suspect their passengers may not appreciate it too much if their head is slammed against the headrest.

I suspect that if the throttle were linear to begin with, there would be no argument from anyone regarding the throttle (and a thread saying "I wish I had a more non-linear throttle" wouldn't exist). I doubt folks who like the throttle the way it is currently wouldn't be complaining if the car had instead come with a more linear throttle to begin with.

So, given the choice of linear or non-linear throttle, a linear throttle would likely appease more people than a non-linear one.

If Infiniti came out with an optional TSB to give folks a choice to apply it or not, that would be great.

For folks who would prefer a more linear throttle, then one place to start is to call Infiniti Consumer affairs, or maybe send an inquiry in the following web page (although I'm not sure how effective it would be):

+1. posting "it is fine" or "get used to it" isn't helpful on this thread.

This thread has gone way off course. We already have enough threads whining about the throttle, and the title says a fix is coming.

I think 5 pages is a good point to stop arguing about nothing and wait for an official response from Infiniti.

wow how we like to whine. . . I suppose you also got an auto because you kept stalling in your previous MT, ok that was harsh. . . and about ohh now I have to think when i drive because I think the accel pedal is too touchy. . please. . .its become second nature. . . maybe the auto makers should all get together and come up with a universal accel pedal with universal feel. . . to make everyone happy! hah

or maybe you can buy a camry, or buick. . .im sure those have "soft" pedal feel. . .

This thread is officially tapped out, nothing constructive will come from arguing about the need for a fix. If Infiniti feels it is warranted they will issue a TSB and it will be posted in the FAQ sticky.
