Wheel discoloration

I recently noticed some dicoloration or staining of the factory 18" wheels. It resembles gray water stains or large water spots. There is also what seems to be black overspray at the spoke's edge near toward the center as well as distinct overspray at the bolt holes. While at the dealer, I noticed similar (but not as bad) staining pattern on a M35. Anyone notice this or know what it could be?

Sorry, have pics but will upload latter.

I also had the same problem, and they replaced the wheels.

I have some powdercoat coming off. Its only on one wheel. Ill probably have the dealer look at it the next time I take it in.

I have the black powder stain which I thought was the brake dust embedded in the paint. The best but hardest way to remove it is with a clay bar. I recently changed my pads to ceramics and can see the discoloration due to less brake dust. I'm happy to have cleaner wheels and am planning on doing nothing with the discoloration. Sooner or later it's coming back anyway.

I have a spot on one of my wheels too, I'm going in on the 25th for the new keys and the heated seats TSB so I will have to add this to the list of issues, along with the crappy grill, to bring up while I'm there.

I am guessing that the dark spots that you see are stains from using acidic wheel cleaner. I purchased a set of M45 wheels on eBay, and they were all stained...I had them repaired by the shop that does work for the local Infiiniti dealerships. The owner told me that this is a chronic problem with the OEM Enkei wheels...They use a crappy clearcoat, which is very susceptible to staining from wheel cleaners. He said he sees this problem all the time at the dealerships.

Unfortunately, there is no way to repair the staining, other than to refinish the wheel.
