$600 15,000 Mile Service
Hey guys, call Infiniti of Kirkland 1 888 577 0544 and see how much their 15,000 mile service costs. I was just quoted $600
.
I've attached Infiniti's schedule requirements. I doing schedule 2.
Is this normal practice for the dealerships? It seems that I can do schedule 2 if I want to but it's not recommended.
$600 is nonsense. If true, this will be the last Infiniti I buy.
From Infiniti Consumer Affairs:-
Thank you for contacting Infiniti Division and allowing us the opportunity to be of assistance. In regards to pricing, each Infiniti dealership is independently owned and operated. Infiniti does provide its dealerships with suggested retail prices for vehicles and genuine Infiniti parts. However, by law Infiniti is prohibited from controlling the actual retail prices charged for goods and services by a dealership. Therefore, each dealership is free to establish whatever price or mark-up it may choose. Due to this I would advise that your research other Infiniti dealers within your area, to see if they offer a more affordable price quote for maintenance.
As for your question, lack of maintenance could possible make the warranty
invalid for certain components of your vehicle. I strongly recommend that you
follow the maintenance schedule and if you do chose to receive your maintenance from an independent facility insure that you keep all documents of the maintenance received. However obtaining maintenance from an authorized Infiniti dealership, will keep that information on record for you and insure that you are receiving the recommend maintenance for each interval.

This is a rip-off. I was also quoted close to $500 for 15K service, but negotiated it down to $150 (and even that was too much). Make them do only items on the schedule 2 and itemize the estimate (give you an estimate for each item). Make sure they don't do anything you don't need, e.g. "check ashtray"...
LOL, I'll tell all of you a secret about today's modern cars: they really require no kinds of service other than an oil change.
Everything else is labor to "check this" and "check that"...
That price is simply outrageous robbery. Just get the oil changed at a Nissan dealership. Even at 30K these cars require no spark plug changes, fluid flushes etc. Just oil. You should check the levels of fluids yourself, which is common sense.
This can not void your warranty either btw...

Dude... you're driving an Infiniti... not a Civic. Obviously and Infiniti dealership will have higher labor rates than a Honda dealership. If you don't want to pay $600, just have them change the oil and get the other fluids done elsewhere. Do your own brakes and all that other stuff.

15K mile rip..........
Infiniti is in business to make money, if they think your stupid and will pay
$600 for their service I'm sure they'll be glad to take your money. The
service writer has a list of tasks they perform on the 15K mile service, most
of which doesn't apply to your car......tire rotation....antenna service etc.
Once you go over the list you shouldn't be paying much more than $150!

Dude the 15k service is mostly inspections. Get the service manual so you can do the cabin filter change. I do all my oil changes and brakes myself. By the way you can inspect all that other stuff yourself. Just look and make sure nothing is damaged and all fluids are good to go. Mobile 1 (5) quarts K&N oil filter and viola 35 dollars for 15 K service!

thats nuts! when i was told to do mine they quoted me 300$ and i was like wtf... but now im getting close to 30k so i might spend the $ on it cause there are something i know need to be changed that i ono ish bout..
$600 is utterly ridiculous. I would call the same dealer back, and say the following: "I need to bring my '07 G35 in for a tire rotation and oil/filter change. How much will that cost me?" Let the cabin air filter go for a while... it won't void any warranties, as nothing's really at risk (except, perhaps the quality of the air you're breathing in the passenger compartment, and that's somewhat debatable.) If you're concerned about any of the inspections, ask them to quote that inspection specifically - none of them can be more than a few minutes, and low dollars.

just get the oil change if you are doing schedule 2. i dont know how hard it is to do the in cabin filter, but it should be something DIY.
the 30K service might be more worth it.
