Rear plate bottom screw holes or frame / holder?

I got the license plate frames for my g/f's G and noticed that it does not have bottom holes drilled. I did some searching on the board and found that some people are using plate "holders" instead of plate frames.

Has anyone drilled holes in the bumper or is this blasphamy? I am not crazy about the plate holder look, and also am concerned about the bottom of the plate making noise or bouncing around and scratching the bumper.

hey...ya i took off the stupid frame the dealer puts on there....and currently running no frame, and just my license plate. I am also worried about the bottom of the plate hitting/scratching the bumper! kinda dumb on infiniti's part if you ask me, unless there is a fix for this?

I used the brushed stainless frame at the back from this site: http://storesonline.com/site/564545/product/500-003. It blends perfectly with my silver 07.
The botton of the plate is contained by the frame.

In previous cars I used double sided tape on the bottom of the plate - I guess I could use the same here.

I hate the design with only the top screw holes

There are 2 black rubber cushions between bumper and plate/frame.

Here is a pic of the rear plate frame I am using and I am very happy with it. Besides the brushed you can also get it in black powder coat, polished, or gold.

Double up on double sided tape is the easy way to go. Can't see it, hear it, or even smell it. Nice!
