Sputtering when engine is cold

Hello:

For the past week every time I turn on my car in the morning the engine sputters and doesn't want to run right. Today the car struggled to keep running and it stalled. After that I turned on the car again with no problems.

BTW: The car seems to run fine the rest of the time.

Anybody with a similar problem?

It can't be normal, I live in Puero Rico and the coldest it has been in the last weeks is 78F.

Is there a check engine light? Maybe you got some bad gas.

No CE Light, the weird thing is that once the car is running it runs good the rest of the time.

Going to turn it On after work, I'll post an update.

It sounds like you probably should have asked for the fuel injected model.

This doesn't sound normal at all. At startup my 6MT revs so high if i don't let it sit there for a while i can just let out the clutch and it'll drive like an auto.

If the engine isn't going into the fast idle mod immediately upon starting the car for the 1st time (in the morning and such), there is something wrong.

William the same thing is happen to my now.
Just use esso gas if you live in PR and some additive (I live in Cayey).
Change the intakes to stillen, great sound, you will love your car after this.

Take Care

Do a search for Railgunner. He experienced similar issues and I think he had it resolved by the dealer.

Update:

Yesterday in the afternoon, after work, the car did stumble a little bit but it ran OK after that. This morning, after a fill up, the car started fine. Apparentlly it was some bad gas, Today I'll add a good FI cleaner to clean up any resideus left behind.

Hey KD I' live in Caguas, Cayey is like a second home to me, I went to College there.

Cayey is great Wil, specially the weather :-)))

Don't worry for now with moorning start-ups, just use good gas (esso) and some octane helper (outlaw or 104+) and let it warm a little.

Keep in contact if you want to meet other nissan guys here in PR, like KikeTech and others that did turbocharge the VQ35.

Send me an email so we can meet and show you what I did with my car as today.

Enjoy your G and smile when you WOT it.

ummm.... people, isn't this related to the exhaust cam timing TSB out on the car?

i know most of the cars that have already mentioned this issue have been warm, not cold.... but the symptoms sound similar.
