i have an '07 and personally its really not that bad just using the ipod to control everything except for volume...i thought i would be super angry about the ipod integration but i'm kinda happy with it

The iPod integration would be nice I have an iPod video and shuffle so the iPod integration would be nice, but it isn't a requirement for me. I use the shuffle for most of my music needs (running, cycling, gym). Since it only has a headphone jack for output, the integration doesn't help me with that. Right now my iPod video is pretty much dedicated to video.

for your ipod video, do you use it most on your tv?

Yeah it's not too bad. I keep my Ipod right at the bottom end of the emergency brake. It fits in the little groove there and I just make sure I have a few good playlists to choose from and let it play.

The video is sweet if you are sitting somewhere killing time or something. I was early for a meeting the other day and sat there and watched some of the Italian Job.

I travel 2 or 3 times a month for work, so I's usually catching up on TV (and movies) at the airport or on a plane. Not the ideal viewing mechanism, which is why the iPhone (with its larger screen) is on my B-day list.

I too just bought a Classic (new version) that has video, but I can't find a cable that works with (to play video as well). What cable are you using to play this through your car?

Thanks,
Chris

I don't remember which brand, but I got a generic RGB cable (red/yellow/white) at Best Buy for like $20. It works just fine in the G, but you have to play with your Video settings to get it out output to the screen and naturally make sure your parking brake is engaged.

It does, that's how I run mine (although mostly just play music, using the base port and a ground loop isolator...)
