Man, that's awesome -- new car & a new laptop -- rock on!

Do you mind telling which dealer is this?

I probably could have pushed a bit to get it down, but the dealer I ended up with was a bit skittish on matching the quote. Fortunately, it was my local dealer so I could play a few cards like, "This is the fourth time I've gone to your dealership first. It would be a shame if you let this one get away like the last three." and "You know I'd prefer to buy from you given my 2 other cars that I'd bring here for service as well." They gave in, but I had to pick up the car on a weekend so they could hide it in the stack of other purchases. I don't think it was a line, because by delaying the sale they could lose it. They seemed pretty surprised at the price I gave them, and said it was below their cost for the vehicle. It may have been a cook/lake county thing, but they charged me the right tax....

I used kbb.com's internet quote request to get the first number from another dealer, and proceeded to shop it around via email. It was such a pleasant experience. I never talked money with anybody in person, in the sweatbox. I met one sales guy so I could decide on the car, and we corresponded via phone and email after that, and only email with the other dealers.

The BEST part was sending an email back to another dealer - "sorry you didn't decide to provide a quote via email. I went with another dealer that did, and will use this in the future."
Care to share which dealer you went through, and whether you took the $4K in incentives or the financing? I am finding the same as yours but with sport instead of wood trim for just under $37 with financing, or just under $33K with incentives. If your negotiated price includes incentives, then I will stop trying to squeeze blood from a stone

Incentives for lease? Lease rates on 2008s?

Quick question:

If you lease a 2008 G, what incentives apply? Also, does anyone have the lease rates for December on the 2008 G Journey's? Thanks!

$4500 off MSRP and low APR

Folks, so far I got the following deal for an '08 G35x w/ Prem + Nav: $4500 off MSRP (MSRP = $40,230) and 0% APR financing for 36 months...do you think this is a fair deal? or does it makes sense to wait till Jan '09 and see what incentives Infiniti might have then?

Cheers,
- M

Your dealer should be able to do much better than this. I bought my G about 6 weeks ago and they were offering me almost $6K off MSRP + the special 1.9% financing for 60 months, or almost $9K off MSRP and use my own financing. I ended up taking the $9K off and got the car for $32K (Sticker was almost $41K... G35S Journey with Premium, Nav, Splash Guards, Kick Plates, Trunk Mat, Cargo Net, Wheel Locks). Keep pushing them for a better price or even go to another dealer, so you can get them competing against one another.

Either way, you won't be disappointed in the car...

Good luck!

Should be able to get at LEAST $1,000 below invoice plus 0%/.9% financing, or $4,000 below invoice if you bring your own financing. Others are getting even better pricing, but that should be EASY, depending on your market. Make sure you go to edmunds or kbb for an idea of what invoice is, as opposed to msrp. Invoice on your options is probably $35K, compared to MSRP of $40K.

^ Yeah, I'd say that is just about right. Edmunds lists invoice on mine at almost $37K (MSRP was almost $41K) and I got it for $32K about 6 weeks ago, so that's almost $5K below invoice.

Thanks for all your inputs -- after some serious negotiations, I am able to get the vehicle approx. $1200 under invoice (Edmunds shows the invoice to be $36,765) + 0% APR for 36 months. Do you folks think this is a fair deal? Or should I look around more and wait till Christmas?

What is the MSRP on the car? Based on the invoice price you gave, this sounds like a decent deal if they are offering you the 0% APR financing along with the $35,500 price. If they aren't offering you the special rate financing too, then you should be able to get the car for around $32K.
