MSRP = $40,230, and yes, this pricing includes the special low APR.

That's not too far off from what I was offered then. My car stickered for a little under $41K, Edmunds shows invoice as $36,943, and the dealer offered the car to me for $35,100 with the special financing, but I opted to take the addional $3000 off the price of the car and used my own financing.

You may be able to do a little better than what your getting, but I say if you are happy with the deal and you want the car, then GO FOR IT!

My 2007 G35 Journey got totaled last week. I have $30,000 in cash to spend on a new car, including TT&L and not a penny more. I am not working right now, so I do not have a lot of flexibility to move on this amount.

If I could get a 2008 G35 Journey, black and wheat, with premium, wood and splash guards for $30,000 out the door, I would be ready to do it right now. Based on what I am reading in this thread, this sounds like it is in the ball park. Please tell me if you guys don't think so. The dealership sales people down here in Houston that I have spoken with have not been very accommodating.

Here is the Edmunds page with that configuration:

http://www.edmunds.com/new/2008/infi....html?action=2

Do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Effective January 6th, 2009 all Infiniti Financial Services and NMAC leases will have disposition fees. Make this a sticky mod... We have no control over this and this is because to offset any loss from the economic loss the company has hit.

$395 for NY Leases with the exception of a select few states having other restrictions for disposition fees

Basically, get your lease now and save yourself $395 at the end.

I think this is an excellent deal -- congratulations! Could you please tell what the invoice and MSRP of the vehicle was?

Sounds like a great deal on a G35xS... I'm guessing MSRP was probably around $42K - $43K, so that seems like a great deal to me too.

Congrats on your new car! You won't be disappointed.

Well invoice on a G with these options is probably aound $33K, so if you pay cash, you should be able to pick one up in the $29K - $30K range without tax and title. So, getting one with these options for $30K with all taxes and fees included will be tough.

I guess I saw where several posters mentioned that they were getting quotes around $1,000 below invoice before the application of the incentives. If that were possible, then 33-1-4= about 28. That would allow for roughly $2,000 between that and $30K.

Are these other posters really getting these kinds of deals they have been posting? Do you think the deals might get better over the last 19 days of the year?

In any case, thanks for your input.

My offer on a 2008 g35x w/ prem/nav/sport/cargo net was a few hunderd below invoice, then an addional $1K off for dealer cash, for a total of $36,125 - If I bring my own financing, I could get an additoinal $3K off, or $33,125. The negotiated price without ANY incentives was about $200 below invoice. If your invoice is $33K, then figure $32,800 negotiated price - $4K in incentives = $28,800, plus taxes (on the original sales price, pre incentive, I think), so add $2 - $3K back and you are over $30K.

Looks like a good deal to me. You may just want to check and see if the additional $3K in dealer incentives helps you out instead of the APR - my quick calculation shows that even with a 5.9% interest rate from say BofA or another national bank, you would save a few buck per month overall, and would owe that much less on your car in case of accident, resale, etc... And if you pay it down faster than 36 months, your savings will be even greater.

Just a thought, but good negotiated price to me..

Thanks for the reply.

Under your scenario, the price in Houston would be 28,800 + 1,800 for taxes (6.25%) + 175 for title, license and documentary fee. This would make the total $30,775, which is $775 over my available cash for this transaction.

The poster right after you quoted a transaction where the buyer noted a price of $1,200 below invoice plus 0% financing. I have not seen an offer as good as that yet, but if someone wants to move a black and tan 2008 G35 Journey with premium, wood and splash guards before the end of the year, I am ready to write a check for $30,000.

Thanks for your reply - much appreciated. I am trying to bring the price down to $1500 under invoice + special APR.

The way I see the logic behind low APR or cash rebate is: if you are going to keep the car for a shorter period (36 months or perhaps less), then cash rebate is a good idea. If you plan to keep the car for a longer period (60 months or more), then the low APR makes sense....

Decisions, decisions.....

Trigger pulled!

Folks, I finally ended up getting my G this last weekend: '08 G35x, Platinum Graphite w/ Graphite, Prem, Nav, Wheel Locks, All-Season Floor Mats, Painted Splash Guards, Cargo Net, Wolfgang Paint Sealant (dealer add-on), and Nitrogen filled tires (dealer add-on). The MSRP of the vehicle was $40,867, and I negotiated it to a flat $34,900 + TTL + 0.9% APR for 60 months.

PM me if you need further details about the dealer & sales guy -- overall it was a very pleasant experience. Thank you all for all the feedback you have given -- you guys are awesome!

Rock on

Cheers,
- M
