It's nice to see that buyers are getting their cars for close to invoice or actual invoice. Most dealers are very hungry these days for sales.

 

Just picked up my new 08 G35 last night after dealer made a trade to get me exactly what I was looking for. Specs and pricing as follows:

2008 G35 Journey, Black Obsidian with Graphite Interior
Sport, Premium, Navi, Tech, Cargo Net, Trunk Mat, Splash Guards and Wheel Locks (gratis)

MSRP: $40,445
Invoice (per Edmund's): $36,808
Purchase Price: $36,494, which translates to $314 under invoice (or $259, if you add back the $55 document fee (see below)).

Miscellaneous:
Dealer Doc Fee (they wouldn't budge, though I didn't push too hard): $55
CA Tire Fee (no idea if this is legit, but too small an amount to haggle over): $9
Title, License, Registration: $302
CA Sales Tax: $3015

OTD Price: $39,875

Also got the financing at 3.9%. Needless to say, I'm very happy with this deal.

1. Go to www.edmunds.com
2. On the home page, in the top left box "New Car's", select Make and Model under "Get a Free Price Quote"
3. Enter Zip and Hit Go
4. Select the "Pricing" tab
5. Make sure the selected trim level is what you want (Base, Journey, S, X)
- If not correct, click "View All Styles" next to the picture and select the correct trim level
6. Click "Price with Options"
7. Select your desired options and color and click "TMV Pricing Report"

This will give you the invoice price, MSPR, and true market value price.

The clear bra is not a factory accessory so it's not included on the invoice. A 3M clear bra should only cost $200 to $300 depending on how much coverage you want. I paid $200 and got the front grill area, side mirrors, and behind the door handles. You can probably find it cheaper if you use a 3rd party instead of the dealer.

I just purchased a 08 G35 Sport, 6mt, with Navi, Premium, Tech Package, it also included a rear spoiler, Truck Mat, and Mud Guards Also..

MSRP - $39,725
Inv - $36,168 - Per Edmunds
Actual Paid - $35,700

There were also Doc fee's of $45, plus $595 acquisition fee, $296 Licence Fee, and 8.75 Tire fee.

I ended up with $3,000 Drive off, and $507 per month as my payment for 36 Months, 15K per year.

They needed to move the car, so I was able to get it under invoice. I dealt with Santa Monica infinity also.

 

Model: G35x AWD (pickup in Jan. due to late availability of Sport Package).
Packages / Options: tech, premium, sport package, navigation, wheel locks, splash guards, trunk cargo net.
Amount Below MSRP: $3,375 ($41,675 msrp) about $300 over invoice

Out the door, cash deal for just under $41K ($38,300 plus 7% NJ tax)

I am a Canadian looking to buy in the US and I was quoted by a NY dealer $35,216 for black/black G35X with premium. and a NJ dealer quoted me $35,468 with wood trim, everything else the same. Considering the post before mine and the post on the previous page. I find my price about 1000 to 2000 too high. Their prices include NAV and mine doesnt.

So any opinions? How much more do you think they should go down?

I "paid" (paying) $36,612. Which is isnt too bad because I am paying cash and they probably cannot go under invoice because there are less incentives from financing etc. But $150 over inoice aint too bad in my opinion I get exactly the car I want.

I will post which dealer later when the deal is done and also a review of the dealer but the dealer is in NY
