Dead G this morning

Went out to the garage this morning as usual, and blah, nothing.

Key fob doesnt work.
Car wont start.
Interior lights wont come on.
Doors will not unlock.
Trunk will not open.

I called my dealer, who is not sure if its a battery issue, a keyfob issue (I tried both fobs, with no luck), or some combination of these plus others.

Roadside assistance is on it's way to bring the car to the dealer for service.

Let's see what happens.

No I didnt leave my headlights or interior lights on overnight. I am trying to go thru my head anything I may have done.

I'll post with the update.

Jesse

One thing I noticed in my G35 is couple lights "ON" on the dash when door not closed properly, that whole dash w/nav kind of sucks a lot of power if some thing was kept on. My friend has a M35 and when watching movie in an OAT she keeps the engine running the whole time.

Get in your car and turn on the wind shield wipers. If they are slow then its your battery.

There was nothing....zilch...zero...nada...this morning.

Dealer has it now. I got a loaner, so they will be checking the whole system out as well as replacing both keyfobs.

It won't leave the exterior or interior lights on for extended periods, auto shuts all lights off. Most cars today have this feature.

Sounds like a dead battery, but could also be a problem with your main instrament cluster. That blew on my truck and I had all the same problems you describe. Either way, it's probably just an easy fix.

Dead as in something is faulty that drained it or faulty battery that can't hold a charge. Either way it sucks.

Yeah most likely seems like a dead battery. If fobs cant access the ECU, the doors wont unlock. Highly doubt its the alternator, too brand new of a car, and its really not that common nowadays that they are faulty. I got my money on the batt.

Two questions concerning this event? How will the dealer get into the car to remove and replace the battery if the wireless door openers are not working?

And how hard is to remove the battery? From intial looks, the ECU is in the way of the battery?

Thanks.
