306 Ponies Got Away From Me
306 Ponies Got Away From Me
Full disclosure...I'm and idiot.
Had the VDC off and it had recently rained...late at night and road was empty, decided to get a little squirly. Hopped on it while pulling out, and stayed on it a little too long. Backend swung out and my frontend slid into the curb. Links to the damage is shown below (Don't know how to embed yet):

Couple questions, anyone have guesstimates on what the $$$ damage will be? Or how long it might take someone to fix it? I'm trying to figure out whether or not to file a claim ($500 deductible). Any ideas here would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if that can be fixed... you might have to get a new bumper.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune but I think it's a lesson well learned.
Don't be stupid and leave the VDC on and don't go fast in the rain in a RWD car

what i'd do is try to push out the dents,
or take off the bumper and push out the dents if possible...
don't know how inclined you are to manually doing these things.. but that's just me..
and if it still looks like crap, i'd just wait until a nicer looking aftermarket bumper comes out,...
if you file insurance, your premium will just go up in the long run...

OUCH! Well I work at a Local Body shop here! and from looking at your Pics, I can tell you you will need to replace that bumper cover! Which itself i would say will cost about $700-900 alone, and as long as you did not bend anything behine the Bumper, or damge the A/C Condensor?... Hard to tell, but I am pretty sure if there is any hidden damges behind that Bumper, you are looking at least a $1400-1800dollar Job, If you pay out of your Own Pocket!! Remember now our new G are one of the most Expensive cars to fix! Parts are crazy High Prices!! just a 5mph bump in a parking lot will cause $3000 in damages! which is really scary to think about! I become so cautious now with my G and where I park!

Glad to hear you are ok and didn't hurt anyone in the process. Leave your VDC ON, it can save your life.
take off the bumper and work it from the inside with a hair dryer or heat gun to pull out the damage.
If you have breaks in the paint you can try some touch up or just scratches and then buff the rest of the bumper out.
I believe that should at least make the car passable.
