Should I Buy It? 07 G Sedan
MY PARENTS MIGHT BE SELLING ME THERE 2007 G35 SEDAN JOURNEY, PREMIUM, 18" SPORT WHEELS. ITS PLATNIUM GRAPHITE ON GRAPHITE, WHEEL LOCKS AND EXACT MATS. IT WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW LAST WINTER. THE CAR HAS ABOUT 7,000 MILES ON IT. VERY WELL TAKEN CARE.
I HONESTLY WANTED TO GET ONE WITH A SPORT PACKAGE. BUT MY DECISION IS UP IN THE AIR RIGHT NOW CAUSE I HAVE THIS OPPURTUNITY TO GET THE 07 G SEDAN THAT I MENTIONED UP ABOVE. IM JUST CURIOUS IF ANY OF YALL HAVE WANTED THE SPORT PACKAGE BUT SETTLED FOR A SEDAN 07+ WITHOUT IT? ANYBODY WHO CAN GIVE ME SOME EXPERIENCES GOOD OR BAD THAT THEY HAVE HAD WITH THERE NON SPORT G SEDAN.
I JUST DO NOT WANT TO BE REGRET NOT GETTING ON WITH A SPORT PACKAGE! ALSO SPORT PACKAGE = MORE $

I was in your exact spot. Went to get the Sport...but for what I wanted I couldn't get it in sport unless I wanted to wait for the 08. So I opted for the Journey to get the other pieces I wanted.
Let me start by saying I love my car...everyday I'm happy with my purchase. However...I really wish I could have gotten the Sport. I know that next time I will absolutely get the sport without question(whether it be G or M which are my two options next time so far). I think that if you can afford the Sport, its absolutely worth the money.
That being said...the Journey is still a great ride that I truly love and make my own more and more everyday.
Either way...you'll be getting a sweet ride...good luck!

tough choice...
are they going to sell it to you for cheaaap?
off the top of my head, the sport package has the following over the journey:
- different front bumper/side
- wheels
- vlsd
- firmer suspension (whatever that means), lol
- larger brakes
- sport seat
- different steering wheel
- paddle shifter for A/T
- metal pedals
you can always get after market stuff or replace for all of the above, but it's going to cost a pretty penny...
also depends on you, some people can't stand the firmer seat (especially for long drives), so much so, they opted for the journey instead of the sport...

If you feel you may regret the decision for not going with the sport pkg, then I would strongly recommend getting the sport pkg. There's nothing worse than experiencing buyer's remorse after spending $30K+.
That said, I would recommend that you test drive the sport extensively. I was dead set on getting the sport, but found the sport seats extremely uncomfortable. Others on this forum and the G37 forum have mentioned the thigh bolsters in particular are very narrow and hurt your thighs after a while. I also felt the sport suspension was overly harsh w/o any significant increase in performance over the non-sport.
Buy the car that fits your personal preferences most - DON'T settle just because one is cheaper than the other.

I have to say, if I had never driven the sport, I would be happy with the Journey, I had driven a couple of '07 loaners, and liked the car a lot, drove an almost new one for a week in July, and I was hooked. But, after driving the Sport for two weeks, I must say, I'm glad I went this route, this car is fantastico!

I purchased my 07 G, journey with premium last year. Price btw the journey and sport was not an issue for me. I drove the sport and liked it alot and drove the journey and liked it more. The sport was a bit too firm of a ride for me and the seats were a bit too "tight". I drive alot, already have 21k miles, so I valued comfort over sport. You also have to look at the big picture, the sport has a staggered tire/wheel set-up so you can't rotate your tires, tire replacement will cost you more because of the size of the tires. Finally, most of us in our day to day driving will only drive 70-75% of the cars potential so unless you really need that extra bit of handling, braking, ect... the journey is fine for me.
