Trunk opening after closing it.

Has anyone run into this problem? Everytime I close the trunk lid the car would beep and the trunk would open again. I would have to slam it shut several times before it would close shut. I brought it the dealer to get it fixed but I guess they didn't solve the problem.

Do you have a key in the trunk?

Are you holding the key close to the trunk release button? The manual says that if you have the key too close to the car it will have trouble determining whether the key is inside or outside of the car.

I noticed that if I close the trunk from one of the edges it would do that. If I put my hand in the center near the button and close it the problem went away.

It does this is the key is in the trunk, or like others said, it's so close to the trunk that it thinks it may be inside...

It annoyed me once... then I realized my key was inside... and I thanked her for notifying me of my stupidity with a fresh coat of wax

dang, i didnt know this. Good thing i didn't leave my keys in my car. B/c last week i was thinking about when i go out to play ball, i would leave my keys in the car and then lock the door, and just click the button on the outside to get in later. Lucky i didn't actually do that, b/c then i would be locked out

when i go cycling....i take the valet key with me and leave the remote in the center console. you can lock the door using the key while the remote is in the car (assuming you have not installed the keyhole delete )

Maybe the remote is screwy? The trunk release button might be stuck down?

Wait, they told me there was no longer a "valet" key with the '07, wonder when they changed that.............

There isn't a valet key, just the metal door key. It's absolutely useless unless your battery dies.
