Exterior Conversion, Journey to Sport, Status: Completed

Hello all,

So about three weeks I came on here and posted pictures of my little bumper blemish where I bumped into the person in front of me in traffic.

The the price for a new left headlight, replacement custom grill, and journey bumper with labor and paint would have been $2,700 and some change.

I decided not to go through the insurance company and take it upon myself.

I ordered the light and got a heck of a deal from Tony from Riverside Infiniti.
I decided to use the original grill that came with the car
I also decided to replace the journey front bumper with the sport front bumper. To install everything the the body shop quoted me $452

Every thing was great until the technician at the body shop noticed that if you have ICC the ICC is mounted differently on the sport model than on the journey model. So my options were to buy the a whole new ICC sensor, or have them modify the bracket five inches to the left. The ICC sensor cost $1,300 so the was not the answer.

5 days later the final price went from $452 to $1069, For labor, a couple of pieces of plastic, paint, and the modification.

I also decided to purchase a set of 20in Defy wheels, they were suppose to be staggered 10.5 in the back, but when we put them on they were sticking out so I decided to stay 8.5 all around and they upgraded my tires to Nitto 5500's.

I did not get a chance to lower it, but I will soon.

The trafficators are suppose to be arriving today but I don't know how or when I'll put those on.

Nice.

I don't like the wheels but I'm sure other people will like em.

As for the "conversion" it's cool as long as you don't put the "S" emblem.

And yeah, it'd look so much better with a drop!

You need side skirts to make the full Journey to Sport exterior conversion.

So at the end of the day would it have been cheaper and lees of a headache to just buy an S from Factory? Im sure the difference in price would have been less than grand....plus you would have sport seats etc
