XM Radio

I know this is a stupid question, but I gotta ask. Is the XM radio subscription free? Or will it run out sooner or later and they will start sending me a bill? Thanks!

It's free for the first three months and then you need to pay after that or else XM shuts it off.

You can get XM for $77 a year. Just call up and ask for it. Don't pay more for it.

Sizzle - any link to that offer, or is that if you buy multiple years up front? I would love to get that deal, and the mail from XM indicated 15 per month which is 2.5 times that.....

thanks!

Don't fall for it. Just call them up, say you received an offer in the mail for $77 a year for a one year subscription.

Here's the phone number I used: 1-866-576-1418

i didn't bother continuing XM after the 3 month trial. Kept on getting letters asking me to come back, but I didn't think it was worth it. Then I got the letter about $77/year and thought, great, why not , so I called in and signed up for it and XM traffic. The way I understand it, XM needs subscribers more than most subscribers need them, so I'm betting if push comes to shove, they'll continue to offer these kind of discounts for a while. I know that after my year, if I can't continue at this cheap rate, I'm cancelling.

So, $77 got you NavTraffic too?

Oh and yeah, you have to call to get it setup usually.

Just picked up my G35S 6MT and XM Radio was already activated. Sales told me it will work for 90 days, and sometime during the end of that "trial period", I'll likely receive a call from XM trying to sell me some long-term subscription.

That $77/year deal is good to know!! Thanks!!

No, that was just XM radio. Nav traffic is only 2.99/month on top of that, which is worth it to me. I don't think it's worth 9.99 standalone though.

I picked up my car on 11/21/08 and got the first letter from XM. The offer is for 3 month packages at $38.85 or $50.82 with traffic. No deals or bargins. The letter tells me that, among other things, I get Dr. Laura. Now why would they think that tight-(insert a common proper name for a donkey here) bigoted (insert a totally proper adjective for a female canine here) would attract me?
