Poor Trunk Design?

Well it snowed last night and the G was unfourtunately parked outside. I've noticed before that whenever it rains and I open the trunk, a lot of water always seems to dribble inside. I opened the trunk in the morning and a lotta snow got into the trunk. Is there any way to prevent this? It was really annoying to literally get a mini shovel and take the snow out of the trunk + luckily my school books weren't in there - I've would've gone crazy...

Sadly the brush WAS in my trunk . Haha. How can I solve the rain issue though? It's annoying when the water on the trunk gets into the trunk.

what do you mean? water only comes in when you open your trunk? i dont seem to have a problem. the water on the trunk drips in the the 'gutter' which is just on the outside lining.

what youre probably doing is opening the trunk under the rain?

If it was in the trunk I would brush it off before I open it with my hand.

You are correct though about the rain water dripping in the trunk, that is irritating .

Neat pics hullio.

Open the trunk slowly. That works for me.

You are a jerk for posting those pix, when I get to the GO-Station my car will resemble yours

Water literally spills into the trunk when I open it if it has rained.

Yea but there was also ice on the trunk making it very hard...maybe next time i'll throw some road salt on the G and take my BBQ scrubber and get the snow/ice off of the G with that! That'll do wonders.............

Well, imgaine that, he opens the trunk and snow falls in, LOL, any car that has doors, or a trunk, is going to get moisture, snow or rain, inside when you open it. I thought this thread was about maybe a leak while the trunk was closed. Irritating yes, avoidable no. Oh, and as far as brushing it off, take Wayne's advice and use your hand, never, never use a broom or a brush!

Be careful even trying to open with ice on it, if it's really frozen, it could scatch the paint as it slides off! Learned that on my first new car!
