Ok did I make my point? I live in a city where this is unheard of but I still act as tho its gonna, just in case.
as long as they sell lug removers/extractors Your car wont be safe even with locks.

true but seriously i doubt they would be able to pull that off quietly? and would take more time? i am assuming the removers/extractors would be best used with a power tool?

Oh well for me I live in a secured building so I do not really worry about that but sometimes when I travel i park in "questionable" places out of neccessity...

wheel locks. only slow a thief down. and by a few mins the most.. i went to town fair tire to get my rims switched over. and i left my lock key at home, since i dont carry it in the car just like someone else mentioned since most people do that.. so all they need to get in your trunk and its even easier than that.

the guy working there asked me if i cared about the locks i told him well i want to have them for next season...hes like do you care about these? im like no as long as i have locks hes like ok, to save you drive back home ill get you new locks on for free. and went to his car came back told me to wait outside. all 4 rims were off within 5-7 mins. just a fyi..

I use oem lugs and 2 sets of wheel lock. They are quite big and a bolt extractor will not fit in the hole. I have to use a thin wall socket to get to them.

Since I just got my rims stolen (see G35s Driver in Distress), I am going to get a set of wheel locks.

I understand it is only a mild deterrent, and it does not change my sense of security. But, if it can slow them down, then I am all for that. I live in an apartment complex where many of the apartments can see my car (I cannot). If the delay causes my alarm to go off, and they have to break a window to search for the lug nut key lock, all of that takes time and noise. Maybe a neighbors peaks out and makes an identification or catches a license plate of the getaway car.

We live in a society where nothing is full proof. Any thief that wants my rims, my car, or anything else I own, there is nothing I can really do about it. I can only hope to deter, delay, and make it not worth doing so that a thief leaves my car alone.

Of course, I could always go Robocop on their butts (see the movie Robocop, I think there is a commercial in the background for this product) and install flame throwers under my doors so that if anyone touches my car in an inappropriate way, they are toast. Literally.

maybe invest in a better then stock alarm? like a 2way so when your car is touched/tampered with/ any doors, trunk, hood opend/windows touched/broken, it pages u on the alarm letting u know exactly what is happening to it. may come in handy if your in a high theif area.

Great idea. I will look into it.
Any suggestions for brand names? I know Viper has been around for a long time.

Thanks for the advice!

yeah we talked about that in a thread either here or n nico forums, the problem with that is intergrating your new compustar 2 way remote or something similar with your intellgent key. I guess you can string the 2 remotes together, but I think thats a very inelegant solution.

Hmm, ok looks like that would work, however, if one installs this & hooks it up as a car alarm
