Really your gas mileage should improve once you get a few thousand miles on it.
(If you can keep your foot out of it )

philthyG: After talking to several other peeps, it seems like its a hit or miss with the 07 G. Some r blessed with 20s and there are people like me who still gets 15mpg mixed city/highway grand-mothering the pedal and hoping for a miracle. I think infinity recognizes this too. If you goto a showroom and look at the '08 window tags, under the 19-27, it states "most people get 14-20". Mostly City driving, I've got 12mpg driving from a full tank of 93 and refilling at 1/2 tank.

I do 95% Highway and can consistently get 22 if I'm not on it. City drops to 17-18.

I have also taken several hundred mile highway trips and the best I have ever got is 23. I think 27 is totally out of the question with this car.

BTW I have 9k on it.

16.7 is about right - especially since you live in heavily congested West LA where freeway traffic is really no better than city traffic.

I commute between Torrance and Culver City and constantly average between 16-17 mpg. And this is with non-aggressive driving.

[QUOTE=philthyG]I bought my 2007 G35 S this past July. Ever since then, my digital mpg reading in my car has been 16.7. When I drive on the freeway it goes up to 16.9 and when I drive in the city, it tends to go to 16.7 ...

Philthy G - I've had my 6mt since April 07, drive what I consider 80% highway/20%city (avg speed of about 40 mph) into and out of Boston suburbs. I got 22-24 mpg new, leveled out at about 23-25 mpg after about 5K miles break in. Never less than 22 mpg and never more than 26 mpg so far on average, but have seen 27 mpg on the interstate at a constant 70-75 mph. And I frequently and rapidly accelerate away from other traffic and drive her fairly hard.

I cannot imagine variation in manufacturing in these cars will cause 30-40% difference in fuel economy between cars, therefore it all comes down to a combination of traffic conditions, driver or fuel quality (obviously this assumes your tires at the correct pressure too ). If it is city driving, unfortunately most of the energy from the gas you burn is wasted by your brakes. Take her on an extended highway drive at 70 to 80 mph and see what that yields. I think you will see 24 - 26 mpg, maybe more.

well since u know your getting 16.7-16.9 1 day on your way to work/normal day reset the mpg. and drive conservative and when u get home see what the mpg is, then next day reset and drive how u would on a normal day non conservative and see what u average then u can compare if its the car breaking in or your right foot.

The car is too heavy to get above 25 MPG, IMO, also the gear ratio isn't very tall, which is great for "driving", but not so great for fuel economy. (I have a Manual trans.)

I get "real" 26 MPG hwy and 22 city. This is actual gallons used calculation and not the CPR readout. I'm going 80 mph avg on the highway, and typical stop & go~bump & grind city.

That's what I've experienced with my past G35's, and once I got to 10k on both, it stayed really consistent around 19-20, so we'll see how this '07 does. Oh, and Wayne, I reset the LCD MPG/MPH as I was getting on the freeway tonight, ha, it gave me an mpg of 34.5 (wouldn't that be nice!), then gradually dropped. I realize the point behind this gauge now, it's to show you how you are doing on a trip. I'm learning the '07 slowly but surely! I still think the best way to judge is the old way, by how many miles and gallons at a fillup!

The quote under the mileage has nothing to do with infiniti. It says cars in this class get that range. Thats on every EPA sticker known to man.

Good stuff Tom. I know I can go 600km (360 miles) before my low gas light comes on.
These cars are amazing, I have owned mine a year and I'm still learning different things that it can do. Absolutely love it

For me it varies on what i am doing with the car.

All highway: 20-22mpg
Mixed: (No drive sport) easy throttle: 17mpg
Mixed: (Heavy drive sport) heavy throttle: 13mpg
Winter driving with snow button always on: 16mpg

Right now, my gauge is showing 10.7L/100 kms. For the US folks, that is 22 mpg. This would be right around average for me.

Mine shows around 22 mpg as well, which is great considering I drive mine WIDE open sometimes. Most of my driving has been on highways (95, 495, 395 around DC) and back country roads, so I'm able to drive a lot without stopping.
