Also had car (see signature) since July. With a spirited but not an insane 6800miles of driving, I average 16.9 with mostly city driving. On the highways about 25 on average.

I keep tire pressure at 34 psi. Manual recommends 33psi.

Recently went from stock summer ONLY Potenzas to Goodyear F1 all seasons.

I think people should report their mpg and average mph. For instance my city mpg is 21.8-22.1 but my average mph is 27-29 mph which is high for city driving. When I lived in Los Angeles, my average mph was around 17mph. I'd imagine I'd be getting 16ish mpg in those conditions as well. I live in a more rural area and the main roads out here have 55 mph speed limits.

would you 2 have said the same statement if lets say the G turned out to be 4mpg? Anyway thats besides the point. Some of the peeps in here are interested in the facts of why there are such huge discrepancies between same Gs. If its something that can be fixed, why not save the environment as well? or make the '09 Gs yet a better car. Some manufacturers do lurk in forums to get feedback and see what can be improved or have missed out.

I think most of the variations in the Mileage is dependant on the foot of each driver, and their respective driving styles.

That is the answer.

Brian makes an excellent point about MPH as a prime factor in MPG as does John2.5RS about foot style.

I can, if I pay attention, eke out 2-3 more MPG when I am conscious of my driving style. That moving MPG graph gives you pretty much an instant readout so you can monitor how you're doing.

I would say the average mileage with MPH and style taken into account is actually fairly consistent.

I drove an '04 Dodge Ram CTD Dually 4x4 for the last 4 years... got 15.9 MPG average in the city - not bad for an 8,000# hunk of steel... turns out I'm getting the same from my new '08 G35 6MT... but I'm having a helluva lot more fun!

Bottom line - 306HP comes at the cost of burning a little more petrol than your average sedan. MPG? Buy a Civic!

i have resorted to using the cruise control to and from work (about 70 miles total).... keeps my foot off the pedal and the computer seems to do a better job of keeping the mpg up over 20...

yups its pretty good I'd say. I got the car at full, I topped it up before 1/2 and again. So I think I used 1 tank, but def no more than 1.5 tanks for sure. Thats a good 8 to 9 hour if driven non stop.

The car is getting 17.9 mpg now at 750 miles on the odometer. The trip to Florida will yield a better number.
