Shane mine regularly reads a bit worse than yours. It is usually 11.5 to 11.7 L/100 kms, which is understandable, since it's the X.

For the most part Wayne, mine hovers between 10.5L/100km and 11.3/100km. I've seen it get into the low 9s or as high as in the 14s. Normally though, it's usually in the upper 10s.

I'm still averaging right around 15 with pure stop-and-go city driving and healthy applications of throttle. When I do a highway trip, it increases to 20-ish.

And I couldn't care less, still love to hear the exhaust when I open it up

I knew it will be bad. I don't care much. What's the point to buy a sport sedan if you don't open it up?

I have not read every post on this thread but the bottom line is this. If you read any forum for Infiniti regardless of model, many complaints are on poor mileage. Our cars are not good on fuel and unless they revamp some settings in a big way, they will continue to be poor in this dept. On the M forums they scream about poor mileage and that car is luxo!

its not that bad, my mazda 3, 2.3 L has a fuel tank of 55 L, from ottawa to Toronto which is under 500KM, it takes nearly 1 tank. I would say maybe 45L So it works out to be about maybe 9 or 10L / 100km.. thats what 1L or so more per 100km aint that bad.

Mine has consistently been @ 20-21 mpg with a 50-50 mix of city and highway driving.

23 mpg @ >75 mph

My commute averages 50 miles/day- about 90% highway with speeds in excess of 85mph most days. Almost 7500 miles, no granny foot

on an average tank which is mostly city driving, i'm hovering around 25-30mph, i get between 15-17mpg.

My one long highway trip I've taken averaging 75mph, i was right at 25mpg.

My worst tank of city driving was around 12mpg.
My best tank of city driving was 19.9 driving like a grandma.

It doesn't matter how I drive, I always get 21.8-22.1 mpg around town; ALWAYS. I've tried nursing tanks and I've had some indy car tanks; yet the mileage doesn't fluctuate. I'm driving the same route (62 miles round trip to work on the two days I take it), plus weekend driving to generally the same places.

Two weekends ago I drove to Dallas and got 29.5 mpg driving there (210 miles) trying my hardest to conserve gas (~75 mph). On the way home I drove more like 85 and my average dropped to 27.5 (thus meaning I probably got 25.5ish on the way back).

However, around town, it's 21.8-22.1.

I can usually get the best out of cars if I really focus. I can get over 23 in the MDX if I keep it below 65. I don't use cruise control either, cruise control makes it worse by unnecessarily trying to speed up when going up hill.

Wow, great response guys. I appreciate you all chiming in. I see that me being at 16.7 aint so bad afterall. ahhah. I mean some of you are getting under 15 mpg and a select few are getting over 20mpg.

For those who get over 20mpg: Assuming you have the 07 G sedan, you are lucky cause it looks like, as some of you have said on here, Infiniti defintely never stressed the mpg selling point. It's emphasis is in sport and luxury and I'd say it does a great job at it.

For those getting under 15mpg: that really sucks dudes.

Now that I see its not just my car that is getting crappy mpg, but many of us so I don't feel so bad. The car was made with power in mind, and not economy. Someday we'll have both, until then, my right foot is going to have a close relationship with my gas pedal and I'm going to enjoy the car.

I'm really itching to put in a sway bar to cut out that body roll. That G sedan has great power and bottom end torque, but it defintely needs some love with the suspension.

On a sidenote, I'll make sure my tire pressures are ideal. I know what the manual says but what PSI do you keep your stock tires on your 07 G sedan?
