Power Steering Loss
Power Steering Loss
So I was hanging tonight with some friends at my local quarter mile. When I was about to try my G for the first time on the strip, rain started falling and I couldn't give it a try. We I was leaving the drag strip I went to the parking lot for a second and made the G do a donut. When I stopped, my steering became rock solid. When it is moving it doesn't have any trouble, its just when the car is sitting still the steering becomes impossible to move. If you put the car in neutral and give it some gas, the steering becomes light again, but if the revs are at idle, the wheel is extremely heavy to move. I think I may have damage the power steering or something. Does anyone know what it could be?? I am going to be calling tomorrow the dealer to take it in, so any help would be appreciated.
BTW, my car has only 2600 miles and it is a Base '07 G35.
Thanks and take care.

A donut shouldn't have done anything - sounds like maybe your power steering fluid is low? Although that shouldn't make it happen suddenly... Wonder if maybe a belt is loose?
Well, either way, it's covered under warranty.

I have done plenty of donuts with a 2003 G35 and 350Z and I have never had any trouble with them. Even my Altima has seem some extreme abuse and hasn't had any trouble.
Anyway, I'll see what happens and let you guys know.
Thanks.

Nope, no lights in the cluster. It seems everything is okay. Except that I noticed earlier that the car had release some type of a fluid. It look like condensed water from the air conditioner, but when I touched it it was some type of oil. Probably steering fluid. Its really weird the situation.
