Come to think of it, i dont even use the ashtray. i have a treo and it dosent fit in the ashtray, so i just use the deep door handle, fits perfect. As for smoking in the car, it is a pain in the *** to sell a smoked in car, i smoked in my tc for 2 years, and $150.00 worth of detailing later, it still smells! wouldnt think of smoking in the G! anyway, just my 2 cents.

I love the ash tray. My cell phone or alternately my 3rd gen iPod nano fit perfectly in it.

 

both my gf and I smoke and last year when my gf was buying a Honda civic
she asked why it didnt have an ash tray.
he answered. oh its California law..... I the popped over
to the infinti dealer next door to droll over my future G
and saw the ash tray. I went back to the Honda dealer
and asked this dumb *** was this only a Cali law for Honda
this guy was a bit of an *** as he kept trying to negotiate with
me on my gf's car I kept telling him talk to her she's buying it

 

did the guy ever give you a legit answer? or is there even a legit answer besides manufactures choice?

 

He umd and arrr ed a bit then said honda said it was because most people dont complain that there not there.
I personally do no smoke in my G I use the ashtray for quarters....

 

Honda's funny with ashtrays. My wife's '05 Pilot has something that sure looks like an ashtray but has a sticker on it that says "Not an ashtray". For us it's a coin holder.

The G's ashtray fits my Blackberry Pearl perfectly though.

 

It's a coinholder only in the states though... in most other countries, it's still an ashtray.
