2008 G35 35k out the door

A good friend of mine purchased a 2008 G35, journey with premium, for 35k out the door yesterday from Infiniti in Redwood city, CA. He told me how nice the car drove and his amazement at the power. I'm sure he'll be joining us here soon. I can't believe he got an 08 at a better price than I did for my 07!!

thats a pretty good price i can say. i got my 07 with premium, splash gaurds, and trunk net for 35g (ironic g35 letterings) out the door as well. it all depends on the dealer and buyer. if you know you're stuff the dealer will have less options to deal with you. its better to bully them than to be bullied BY them . g ftw<3

"Out the door" meaning including tax and title? If that is true that is a really good deal, almost too good to be true!

thats pretty much the price you can get for that car right now. i got tustin(so-cal) to bring it down that cheap, but i went elsewhere because i got $1000 more for trade-in through broker. i paid a few hundred more than that OTD price, but gained an extra grand for trade in.

Was there a trade-in?

If so, it is difficult to rate the out-the-door price without knowing what kind of beating was taken on the trade.

Many folks here post negotiated prices for their Gs, but fail to note any trade-in that was involved.

I lived in San Diego for a few years but never purchased a car while in CA. Are you required to pay tax on the spot? I bought my car in the next state, 8miles away and I did not pay tax to drive away. I payed $33,500 for '07 Journey, Premium, Wood, Splash Guards - with no trade. But sales tax was about $2500 or so when tagging the car. That's a good deal if tax was included.

I just joined this forum today. I got a 2008 G35 Journey with Premium package and total cost including tax, tags, etc. was $35,000. They gave me $3000 on a trade in so my total cost was $32,000 that I financed with the 3.9% finance special. I got G35 from Marin Infiniti.

That price looks to be basically invoice price +/- $100 bucks or so depending on the sales tax rate wherever he bought it. Sounds like a pretty decent deal.

I think the economy being what it is has alot to do with it, especially in California. My wife and I went car shopping for an SUV and salespeople were straight up telling us that we can have the car at invoice, etc... hmmm..maybe its time to trade in the G35 for a G37, lol..

I got a better price than that, since i used VPP and I get below invoice pricing.

But this isn't really difficult to do, many local dealers here are willing to give you the VPP even if you aren't entitled to it.

This is one problem with Nissan/Infiniti, these kinds of deals are hammering the residuals, making depreciation worse and lease rates higher.

Much easier to buy a G35 at/near invoice than a BMW 335.

It's a good deal. I got $37k with the same plus Navi package, take away the Navi and CA tax, it's slightly below $35k.
