Exclamation Help! Looking for a Blue Slate/Graphite Sport w/Prem and Nav

OK... I am 90% sure I will go with the fully loaded G35 versus breaking my budget to get a 335. But I can't seem to find a local dealer with my first choice (Blue Slate with Graphite) color combination in the Sports Package with Premium and Nav (and no rear spoiler).

I suspect my options are having my dealer hunt for one and since they will need to swap (transport two cars) I will need to pick up that charge. ANy idea what a reasonable add-on charge for that will be?

Or having them order one... I have a VPP option, so I don't think ordering effects the VPP price, correct? How long does ordering typically take? And do Infiniti dealers typically offer up loaners while you wait for the car?

Thanks in advance... I was hoping to move quickly on this, so whatever advice/info would be much appreciated!

Give Tim Ellis at Passport Infiniti Alexandria, VA a call - thats where I got the exact car you're looking for, and they had a few. See if he can work a swap with your dealership if they have one in stock - Passport is really good about that stuff.

send GRUBBS an e-mail. They're local to you, relatively.

Thanks.. sent Derek a PM last night. A local dealer may have one in 10 days, so I may be set.

and vpp is ****. lol from what i have heard on this forum. pay no more than a couple of hundred over invoice including all fees. and before taxes and title.. if ur financing you shouldnt be paying more than invoice. because they make money off you for that.. just a thought.

Thanks. My understanding is that VPP doesn't matter whether paying cash or financing. And in this case I will be writing a check for the car (hate financing cars; I end up keeping them a long time). I believe I will be getting it for under invoice. Just in case I am bringing an email from a dealer I had been dickering on price (same car, MSRP $39,375, priced at $35.9k), just in case. I am thinking anything around $35k is reasonable for the sports/premium/nav (correct me if I am wrong). Thanks!!!

And as an addendum... compared to 335

I had been comparing the G35 to the BMW 335. While the 328's are plentiful, the 335s are harder to get and as such the not only carry a higher price but also the dealers are less willing to deal. I had looked at ways to lessen the price gap... eg skipping the sports package, no nav, no comfort access. But the best I could do at a car that was fairly comparable to the G35 was a 335 with sport (gets bigger wheels, higher speed, and for $100 the paddles) and premium (leather and bluetooth), with satellite (335s get the Logic7, which competes btter with SOW). The best I could do on that (a nice sapphire metallic with a brown/black leather interior... really nice combo) was $45k or an OTD of $48k. And even though the BMW is a nicer car to be honest (smoother and faster, with better materials), I really struggled with justifying spending that much money for a car.

cant tell you for sure but check edmunds.com and get a detailed invoice price, including spalsh guards and cargo net if any... their invoice prices are pretty accurate and if you get anything under that, would be a good buy in my opinion. i like your style already.. haha like me... i believe in getting the best deal I possibly can.. and I paid cash too. unlike some people here who believe $300 doesnt make a diff.. I think i rather spend $300 on somethign else if I can.. p.s make sure ur specific about fees and be ready to walk if they try to spring some on u..also dunt forget to get them to include wheel locks at no charge.

No worries, found and bought the Blue Slate/Charcoal I was looking for

Thanks everyone... found one being trucked to my closest dealer and made the deal. I get to pick it up Tuesday, until then, I am enjoying the loaner.

As it turns out, my company was able to purchase through the same level of VPP as regular Nissan/Infiniti employees, so the price of my car was a bit under $35k (which was a bit under invoice). The dealer then got some back via the tint and pinstriping.

I suspect folks better at negotiating can get the same car for the same price or less... a San Antonio dealer had a pretty similar car (minus the slash guards and net) for $35.9k as their "haggle-free" price which I suspect could have been haggled down (that car sold Friday night though). I was pretty set on the color combo (though once at the dealer, I again saw how nice *all* the G35 colors looked, including black, Liquid Platinum, and Platinum Slate). Seems being flexible on color helps you get a better price on a car.

Hope this answers your question...
