I had a very similar problem on my 97 Maxima, when the CC would just quit, CC indicator light would start blinking and it wouldn't let me set it on again unless I "reboot". The problem on my car was a defective speedometer head that would intermittently stop sending current speed info to the ECU, and when ECU doesn't get the vehicle speed information it shuts off CC.
I know the 2 cars are very different, but it could be something similar nevertheless.

 

Anyone have an update on this? I just had it happen last night. After about 20 minutes ICC shut down, warning lights came on (not the clean sensor etc.), and I could not even use the regular cruise control. Once I shut off the car and restarted, everything was back to “normal.” I will be taking it in on Monday, hopefully.

GO to a different dealer, yours might not know what they are doing.

 

It happened to me again tonight. Does anyone know if the reflective tape on road construction barrels could be causing the issue? It seems reasonable that the corner reflectors sending the laser back from all angles could confuse the ICC. Thoughts?
