I'm coming up almost on a year of ownership and I'm still in love with the damn thing like the first day I drove it home. Hell, I'm here on these forums every single day still reading about it. I look forward to driving it all the time and admire it even more when I see someone else with it. I have no problems with the MPG and use the gas economy meter to keep me well behaved behind the wheel.

Couldn't agree more - thats my one big regret. I honestly didn't think it was worth it to get the tech with backup cam for $1100....but now I really regret that decision.

Every time I get out of the car it makes me a little sad, and I always have to glance back a couple times to think

My wife and I just bought an '08 S a couple of weeks ago. We haven't driven the car a ton yet, but are really like it so far. Our only gripe is no folding rear seats.

I will also have a future gripe when the new 3.7 motor comes out but that stuff is always going to happen.

I love it, wanted it for a while now but couldn't justify getting rid of my '03 tiburon GTv6, especially for its low resale value, even with all the work done on it.
I put too much money in that car modding it. But, 4 weeks ago, my girlfriend helped me out when she drove it one night and got smoked through an intersection. I'm happy the car got written off and i now drive a sexified G!

Yay me...

Only regrets I'm feeling, but those are mixed regrets on certain days only, is not buying a manual tranny. I miss shifting from the tiburon, but i figured I wanted to keep this car luxury/convenient, and there were those days when my leg felt like it was gonna fall off from clutching in traffic.

Ahhhh well, thing is, with 300+HP, I can handle a slight power loss from the auto tranny. I gotta buy that paddle shift kit someone here was selling.

Most days I love the car.

Some days I'm disappointed the rear seats don't fold down.

I have to look the other way at the gas pump.

But all said and done, it sure is a nice car to walk up to in a parking lot and get inside.

Thoughts?
Understood. For my part, I would not purchase this vehicle again.

Power is great; looks are good+. Fuel milage sucks; paint is fragile; dealer is a total crook; & all the gee-gaws/doo-dads/fru-fru are neat, but confusing and mostly unused because it's more trouble to exploit it than it's worth most of the time. After finally nearly wearing out the owners manuals out trying to exploit all the features, I finally tossed 'em in the trunk and said "What the h#ll, let's just drive it!"

Just my opinion.

^^^ Same here. Would NOT buy this car again, actually, I have it for sale on autotrader and swapalease.com. I should have just bought another BMW. Trying to save some money bit me in the @ss. Now it's just going to cost me more than just buying what I REALLY wanted. Inifiniti dealerships are a joke. Sorry guys, don't mean to bash Infinity on a G35 website, but I am so unhappy with this car it isn't even funny.

Not everyone is going to love this car. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car, I just don't care for it. I thought I would when I bought it. I just don't have that "feeling" you get when you have a car you love. You know what I mean. Like when you park it and walk into work and think, "I won't be able to be with my car for at leat 8 hours." Then you look back at it 10 times while you are walking to the door thinking how beautiful it is. Yeah, I don't feel like that at ALL with this car like I did my previous BMW Cabrio. I'l sell it and move on.

Good for you for realizing the problem and fixing it (although it'll cost you money). If you're patient and wait for the right deal, you may come out all right.

Cars are a very personal thing. I look at Bimmers and think they look too much alike, and the 335 front-end is hideous (I'd love to have the turbos though). On the other hand, I'm used to driving Nissan products, and am guessing car preference is sometimes also based on being familiar with a brand's controls and styling.

Did you not drive before buying, were you buying with your eyes closed? I for one haven't had an issue with my dealer, so don't say dealerships are a joke just because your happens to be. I've heard bad stuff about the BMW dealership here................

It took me all of 30 minutes to get the hang of all the features in the car...I've never opened my manual. Only thing I needed direction on was the voice commands which is available on this forum.

If this car's gadgets confuse you, may I advise you stay away from luxury cars...especially BMW iDrive. It may give you an aneurysm.

I can understand that obviously not all buyer's will be happy, but I don't understand whats so confusing about the G's gadgets. I've been in many cars with lots of gadgets and the Infiniti, alongside Lexus and Acura, were all extremely easy to use and figure out. I love the 335i, only reason I didn't buy it was because of iDrive plus I didn't think the marginal cost equaled the marginal performance I got with the 335i.

I came from a 2001 BMW 740i sport. IMHO, one of the best full size sedans ever. I regret not getting another bimmer since I had 2 but I'm content with the G. I have 25k miles on my 07 G35. My only regret, I shoulda gotten the sport instead of the journey.
