Thanks again for the quick response and advise. Much appreciated. I'll try the "cold start" complaint on the next visit. What is the Cold Start Issue anyway. My car seems fine in that regard. I do notice that in the colder weather, until the car warms to Op Temp, the Auto tranny shifts abruptly into 2nd, 3rd gears it seems. Smooths out as it warms. Also: with the 5 speed Auto tranny there is "manual" mode. No matter the outside temperature, when shifting into 3rd, doesn't feel as smooth, even if you play with the throtle, like trying to drive with a manual tranny. Anybody else ense this too?

On mine the RPMs would fluctuate during first few miles on cold start as I was cruising along at 35-40MPH. With foot not moving it would fluctuate 300-400RPMs. I notice my car holds gears longer on warmup, whereas before it would attempt to shift to 5th ASAP.

045 completely fixed this issue for me.

EDIT: Here is thread where I talked more about my issue with cold start.

I also told dealer that I notice these symptoms are often mitigated by placing car in DS and down shifting into 4th gear from 5th gear.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't felt the RPM changes. Spoke to my Dealer in White Plains, NY about speed sensitive wipers that don't seem to react to speed changes. I also discussed the Reflash of the ECU so "talked" about on this forum. They said that they have not done one to date...

Black Beauty with Grey leather, Premium pkg, 5spd Auto, Made in Japan 12/06, Dellivered 4/07, 7800K miles.

Dealer may need to activate it with their Consult III.

Here is formula for how it should work.

my vote

OK, since I started this thread I just casted my vote in favor of TSB 045.

Had the ECM updated to Rev. C

My observations are less neck jerking, less aggressive tip-in as other have noted. Accelerator has to be depressed ever so slightly harder to get going, making quick acceleration more controllable. This has somewhat of an effect of a heavier accelerator pedal. All power is still there as needed. Other positives:

- when in DS full manual, no more "banging" into 3rd gear, overall shift points are much smoother
- in DS full manual, less jerking feeling when slowing doing and auto downshifting to a stand still, slowing from 3rd to standstill used to have a slight jerk, now its smooth

Not planning on applying either one of these. I'm satisfied with the car as is.

Talking

Good to see the Site Back up. Well, I did get the 028 TSB Reflash done at my Dealer last week. Complained about the Jumpy throttle and the fact that when cold especially, the shift into 3rd (Automatic) in D and in Sport mode, was abrupt. When she warmed up, it was a better shift, but not as smooth as the other gears. The Service advisor initially told me when I called for an app't, that they have NOT done any reflashes of the ECU. But when I brought my 2007 G35X in - they did Do the reflash which addressed the "hard" shift. The throttle repsonse is slightly less agressive from standing start which you notice driving in traffic and the gear shifting much less "hard" into 3rd Gear. I think I notice a slight hesitation now in drive that I don't think I noticed B 4 the reflash. I'll driver her some more to see if this just a subjective thing, that is a result of adjusting the throttle response. It's too bad, my current job has me commuting by train everyday, so I'm only driving the car to & from the station - 6 miles a day. This is NOT the purpose to this car !!! Hopefully, this will change for me soon....

Timn99: I think you nailed the exact reaction after the reflash that I feel.

i just don't see how most of you guys are blaming the car, when it is the human that has to press on the pedal...it's like blaming a computer for not working right (stupid computer won't do what it's "supposed" to)

I think I want to get ITB07-028a-1 applied but the part numbers are only for AT equipped cars. How are you 6spd guys getting updated? My dealer looked at me retarded when I explained the cruise control problem (which I do have). I do see 6MT flash codes in the TSB.

Your dealer is smoking crack. There's no limitation to AT only on ITB07-28a.

It's limited strictly to VINs. Here's the VIN list:
JNKBV61 E (*) 7M 728124 / 03-Jul-2007 (without Intelligent Cruise Control)
JNKBV61 F (*) 7M 822387 / 03-Jul-2007 (without Intelligent Cruise Control)
JNKBV61 E (*) 7M 728586 / 10-Jul-2007 (with Intelligent Cruise Control)
JNKBV61 F (*) 7M 822720 / 10-Jul-2007 (with Intelligent Cruise Control)

My 6mt was in one of the ranges above and was handled with no complaints by the service department. Assuming your VIN matches one of the aboves, go to the FAQ sticky above and print the TSB and take it to them.

Another option is to call Infiniti Consumer Affairs (see the 800# on the Infiniti web page) and verify that the TSB applies to your vehicle. There's an option off of the 800# for just this purpose. Again, you'll need your VIN.

If the service manager argues, make the call to Infiniti with him present.

So I am guessing by this brilliant logic that you never, ever download any updates to your Operating System on your PC (or Mac), because there are never issues with the original version out of the box. Good luck with that...

I answered TSB ITB07-028a applied, NOT satified (car feels slower, want old ECM back).

I chose this answer because the car certainly feels slower, but for everyday driving the car is more drivable.

I'm not sure that I want the old ECU back, but I would like some of the characteristics of each. I'm not satisfied, but I don't necessarily regret having the update performed on a daily basis.

My dealer reflashed the ECU and put in a call with corporate to ask about the parts stating that they were only for the A/T model.

In the meantime they did not replace the ICC

They called me back and told me an updated bulletin should be released shortly.
