Looks like I'm heading to Guelph soon.
Welcome to the club Paul. The new parts for mine came in last week.
They said they fixed mine before but alas it was the same. I have not been able to use that door for many months. Very frustrating .
Now I just have to make another 2 hour drive to get it fixed, and hopefully a successful fix.

Ian as you know mine went in the warm weather, the day we were on our cruise. Pauls went in the extremely cold weather, that's what they initially blamed mine on and I told them NOT !!
They ordered a new cable plus a whole new handle mechanism for mine.
I am going to try and go there next week, weather permitting.
I will keep this updated.

Start RANT

Well I made another trip to Guelph Infiniti today. They are great people there but they can;t seem to convert my car back to a 4-door.

Trip #1-My one rear door handle became inoperative last fall, so I left it until it was time for service. A month later the other rear door handle started acting up, so I finally took it in after Christmas. The car was there all day, they said it was fixed and I tried it and shiznitts it still didn't work, so back into the shop for another hour (Meanwhile it's blizzard conditions outside, with whiteouts etc along with my 2 hour drive to get there ) I was really pi$$ed off, since they said it was fixed.

So now, they have to order parts, new mechanisms and cables for both sides.

They called a week or two later, the parts are in, but I am going away for one month, so I schedule to go in today.

Trip #2- Well I made the 2 hour drive to get the door handles fixed. They said a 3 hour job. So I take off with a loaner car

1 1/2 hours later they call. Can't fix, have to order parts,, the the new mechanism they ordered to replace my defective door mechanism was defective. Now get that, the new parts are defective.
So now my car is in their shop waiting for new undefective mechanism and I am hammering on this keyboard with a crappy loaner in my driveway. Now remember it is a 2 hour drive each way.

So I sincerely hope the good parts come in tomorrow and I can have my 2 door sedan converted back to a functional 4-door.

Trip #3 - to be continued............

Hi Wayne,

Sorry to hear about your continued bad luck Wayne. I appreciate how extremely frustrating it can be. I had many, many, many trips to Crosby VW with my prior car so I remember all to vividly how in convenient this is.

Remember back in January when I mentioned my rear left door handle came loose? Fortunately it turned out to be nothing (knocks wood). Once it warmed up it was back to normal but it had me worried for a bit.

I'm visiting Guelph tomorrow 11:30am for oil. Any chance you'll be around?
I hope you get it all resolved soon.

Thanks Paul.
The car is still there. Hopefully I will get a call later today to pick it up. I must say they are compensating me for my extra trips.
I will update when I find out more.

I bought my G about a month ago with this same door issue. the driver's side rear door would not open, exterior or interior, I took it in on wednesday morning and picked it up friday night, they said something broke inside and they had to order a part, all covered under warranty, i didn't pay a cent. I didn't realized this was so common until i saw this thread, i thought i was a one in a million case, i mean how often does a door not open??

I'm not sure about that. Even the replacement part they ordered was defective.
