Unhappy Anyone have problems with rear doors?

I have an odd problem with the rear driver's side door on my 07.

I'll start with a short story...

Several weeks back we had our first truly cold morning in this part of NC.
As I do every morning I opened my rear door to put my laptop back in the floorboard.
The door handle seemed to stick with the cold, but I didn't think much of it until I closed the door.

It bounced back open. I tried to close it again. No joy. The door would not close.

I drove to the dealership (~ 3 miles from my house luckily - all neighborhood streets) with my arm reaching in the backseat to hold the door closed (I have a 6MT...fun)

They serviced the car and when I picked it up several hours later they told me that the cable "fell off".

Ever since then on cold mornings the door handle has that now familiar resistance and I don't want to open the door because I am afraid that the cable will fall off again.

In addition to this, when I unlock all of the doors, the rear door locks (both sides) sometimes make a loud "whirr" noise. I haven't been able to reproduce this noise for the service techs yet, so they can't fix it.

Has anyone else had problems similar to this?

I appreciate any info.

Thanks.

No, I haven't had this problem and I live in the same area (although my car is parked inside a garage). You can't be afraid to open your car doors though, so if it messes up again obviously they're going to have to make sure they do a better job of fixing it.

Does it make the noise only when it is cold? If so, then leave it at the dealership overnight and then have them listen for it before the car warms up. That *may* be one reason you can't reproduce it. Either way, I would be throwing a fit for them to fix it one damn way or another.

My back door handle broke ... same symptoms as yours... one day I went to close the door and it bounced back at me. I was able to press down the lock and close the door and have it stay closed. It was a nice summer day for me .. not cold at all.

I took it to the dealer and they said it was a known problem and replaced the handle.

I have been fine ever since.

I'm glad at least one other person has had this issue. Thanks for the info.

They did fix the door once, but when it is cold outside (especially after sitting over night) it feels like the door doesn't want to open. I leave for work before the service department opens, so I've been waiting until I had time to take it back in.

I actually have an appointment this Wednesday, so hopefully they will resolve it this time.

Thanks.

I dropped the car off for the clutch cylinder replacement and also left a list of other things, including this door issue with the techs.

They must have been able to replicate the problem because they order new lock assemblies for both rear doors.

Additionally the performed the clutch cylinder recall, the ECU reflash, and the heat seater recall.

I'm pretty pleased with this visit. I'm waiting on the ordered parts to arrive. Additionally the dealership put a call in to the Infiniti Techs to determine if the ICC needs to be replaced as part of the ECU reflash.

Well, not a recall, but a bulletin.

http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../ITB07-014.htm

Apparently there is a harness that they replace under the seat. It used to take about ten minutes or so to feel the seat heaters, but after they performed the work it is only about 3 minutes. A significant increase.

I didn't do it sooner because the bulletin is titled "TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE WHEN USING HEATED SEATS" instead of "IT TAKES WAY TO LONG TO GET MY BUTT WARM"

Yes I've had this happen to both of my back doors. It was cold and both times I had to fix it by flipping the latch assembly with my finger.
