Yep I have, I thought that was obvious in my previous post.

Well gosh, so sorry I missed your obviousness.

I've always believed it's impossible to remove scratches from chrome. Prompted by your response, I went to the Autopia Detailing Forum and found the following information... perhaps it'll help the OP.

Hey, no worries. Polishing chrome isn't as easy, however it's not impossible. Using the right compound is the key.

I haven't polished chrome on a G, however I did on a family member's Lincoln Navigator. They incurred some scratches from a shopping cart and wondered if I could remove them. They had a little dremel tool with a small buffing wheel so I used that along with my Menzerna 0106FF polish and about 95% of the scratches were removed.
