Thanks!

08's have improved throttle response, not as touchy. And I believe in 6MT models, they fixed the problematic clutch in the 07's. Also, iPod integration and XM radio is part of the premium package in the 08's.

I'm not sure if there's much else

'08s get iPod integration, '07s didn't.
'08 5AT Sports are apparently "Journey Sport", with paddle shifters and seats, but not bigger brakes (not positive on the brakes).

Hey Whtbst:

I think you're probably referring to the '07 coupe. The '07 sedan - I have an '07 G35x with all the options/packages, does have a hard drive based navi (it's possible that the '08's is quicker, but I don't believe it is), and the '07's heated seat switches do have two light indicators - there's off, level 1, and level 2 heating (I wish it had cooling like the M class does).

I recently did the software update to make my throttle less jumpy, and am very happy with that decision. Before doing so, I test drove an '08 G35x. Other than the accelerator pedal, it felt identical. Course I didn't try out the downgraded voice commands or the upgraded sound staging, but it felt identical. Now that I've done the software update on my '07, it truly feels identical to the '08. My MPG so far has gone up by 4 MPG because I'm not unnecessarily accelerating very quickly every time I take off, but if I want to drive more quickly, it's easy to do. The pedal travel is simply a lot more linear - which I think is great.

I would definitely personally love the iPod integration that the '08 has, but I don't know if I would be willing to give up all those voice commands for the iPod integration since I use the hard drive a lot - and have put most of my music on that. It's not ideal because you have to rip every CD to it directly (they really should have supported plugging in a USB device to transfer all of the music once or at a minimum transferring the music from CF to the hard drive, but that's another story), but it works well otherwise.

Cheers

wait the 07 has a better ECU? why?!?!?!?!

Nono, the 08's have better ECUs because they were reworked so the throttle is smoother and more linear.

Just drove a 08 G35X Loaner. Just didn't feel as fast as my 07 - more hesitation. Was very pleased to get my 07 back with a new Tranny Valve Body installed under warranty - had some hard shifting into 3rd gear. Noticeable difference.

Probably because most people put regular gas in loaners....

Also could be due to so many different driving styles and the tranny adapting too so many different people driving it. Although my car shifts pretty hard if its in Manual Mode

I've heard people make general statements like "the interior materials are better" on the 2008 & 2009 models vs. 2007. Can someone pls provide confirm if there is any truth to such statements.

Thanks.

Is it certain packages that allow for the ipod interface in the 2008 or do all 08s have it? I am currently looking at an 07/08 but would really like to be able to control my ipod through the headunit. I have been able to find many 08s but have not been able to find any with navigation sadly.

Also if it is part of a package how can I tell if a car has a certain package?

Thanks in advance guys.

Another minor difference between the 2 is that the interior pieces of the 08, like steering wheel paint and interior door trim. seem to hold up a little bit better.
