alright, i just got my new to me g on friday. when i turn on the headlights i get these two tiny led type lights that light up and shine down on my control panel area (radio, hvac, etc..). i could swear that the first time i turned on the lights that they didnt light up, and i was fiddling with the car and all the buttons to figure this car out since it didnt come with the manual. i read the online manual at infiniti.com but i cant find anything about these little lights. its kind of cool in a way, but id rather them not be on. they are right next to the sunroof controls, and they are certainly not the big map lights that you press to turn on. am i crazy, or were these always on with no way to turn them off? thanks for any help.

 

They were always there... and AFAIK they're always on when the lights are on.

Not sure if you can mess with the courtesy lighting setup in the options, but personally I like them so I've never tried.

They actually help at night so you can find the controls easier... but I guess some people might not want them on at all. :shrug:

i love having them on as well, but i suppose it would be nice to at least have the option of turning them off. in my wife's mini, she has several of these lights all around the interior and i believe the only thing you can do is change the color (5 diff colors) but not turn them off completely.

bmfgsxr, you can always stuff some cotton up in the light holes

 

lol.. my son suggested some tape, but i told him that you dont use tape in a car like this.. i suppose ill get used to them, they are kind of cool, but i like my interior very dark at night..
