Subject: Navigation Update for 2007 Infiniti G35 HDD
Hello,
I was wondering if these updates are ever going to be available. These update are very important for a driver living in Las Vegas where the city's infrastructure is changing and growing rapidly. Please have a concern for your customers and get these updates out in a timely manner!
Sincerely,
So I guess it's Infiniti's Fault?

That's the same response I received a few weeks ago after I managed to get a 3-way conference call going with Infiniti Consumer Affairs.
What the ICA rep recommended was that I get everyone possible to call ICA and lodge a formal inquiry to help prod them into getting this done. Note that as the initial poster stated, the problem is NOT Zenrin, but Nissan North America at this point so make sure you point the finger the right way when complaining.
So here's what to do:
Have your VIN handy.
Call 800.662.6200, Option 7. (Linkified for verification of 800# info) Do NOT use option 6 (Nav questions) as using option 6 will take you to Zenrin's Helpdesk while option 7 will connect you to someone helpful in North America.
Explain, politely, that you're complaining about the continued delays in the release of Navigation updates for the 2007 G35 and that you'd like to file a complaint. You already know that the issue is with Nissan North America and are dissatisified in their choice to not only delay the release, but keep their customers in the dark about it. Above all, be nice to the person in ICA who answers the phone, it's not their fault and they're much more likely to be helpful if you're friendly.
The more people who do so the more likely we are to see something done about it! Using my complaint number won't do the trick as it's tied to MY VIN. You have to call in using your own VIN.
To the best of my knowledge this delay only affects the 2007 G35. 2006 and prior already have updates this year, and 2008 isn't slated for an update until October.
So c'mon 2007 owners...

Personally I'm probably going to wait a while before I do this. 99% of the routes I take today I either know or are up to date in the nav, so there's no point on updating even if it was free.
I guess if it ain't broke...
But I see your point if you live in Vegas though... I went there in April and again in September and there were 2 new hotels up and a bunch of new streets. WTF...

Around the NY area they ran out of space to build any new roads around 1977. You could use a paper map from the Nixon era and get around just fine.

Normally I would agree, but oddly enough, all the outright wrong information has been in areas where there hasn't been construction in over 10 years. One of the routes tried to take me on a shortcut through the baseball field of a local high school. That schools been there for 20+ years. Maybe I need to take it off the "shortest route" option .
On a side note.....doesn't Zenrin use Navteq maps? My garmin used Navteq maps and it was always spot on.
