Yup, I am on s2ki. I wouldn't complain for a 4-banger that does 220HP w/o turbo and the 0-60 under 7 seconds :P

I had fun with that car, it's just too bad that it's not convinence

Alcohol belongs in a glass not your car...

I posted earlier about losing 3 mpg after using gas with 10% alcohol. My last fill-up was BP/Amoco which does not add alcohol (in SW Virginia alcohol is not required yet), and the car got 26.88 mpg. I'm pretty happy with that.

This isn't an economy car and I didn't buy it expecting 30 mpg, but to get this level of performance and economy is phenomenal.

I'm not complaining by any means, especially since I was aware of the gas mileage before purchasing. However, the mileage is horrible when you consider a 335i gets low to mid 20's with more HP, more TQ and it's a twin turbo. My friends 335i is averaging 23-25mpg in DC rush hour traffic. I'm averaging 17-18.5mpg in the same traffic.

That said, I have tested many brands of premium gasoline in several cars that required premium since 2002. Cars tested were, 2k2 Maxima, 2007 G35 and 2007 Nissan Quest. All of these vehicles got better gas mileage using Shell gasoline. Sunoco wasn't far behind. I got worst mileage using BP/Amoco. Gasoline tested came from Shell, Sunoco, Mobil 1 and BP/Amoco. Years ago BP/Amoco performed fantastic, but over the last 2 years I've noticed mileage dropping.

Are you sure the 335i average 23-25MPG? That's high way as from what I've seen, we have taken the 335i on highway alot and it average 22-24 MPG. But as far as local/city driving, it wouldn't even get more than 18 MPG even if you baby the car.

my car never really does 0-60 in under 6 second like the paper says, I always get under 7 seconds however I launch. I thought the first gen was only 220hp until they upgrade to the 2.2 with 240hp?

was always 240... f20c vs f22c... less torque but more rpm to make up the power on the older engine.

5.5 is pushing it... rather difficult to do unless you're a pro... but under 6 is cake if you're launching properly with decent tires...

f20/f22 responds rather well to high octake as well.... proven gains on a stock motor with up to about 96 octane... after that it gets marginal.

i have only 4000 something miles on my car. i am somewhat aggressive driving in town, due to the stupid drivers all over the place 1/2 sleeping while behind the wheel anyways I get 20L/100Km according to the carputer..which is 11.76mpg which I think is too sucky ??

Even the best I get is...15.68mpg which is 15L/100KM...

Does this sound like theres something wrong ?

Thanks, Infiniti. I wasn't a car person before I bought your product but I count the hours I spend in her as the best hours of my day.
That was beautiful.

I drive like a complete idiot. I use the brakes way too much. I stomp on the gas all the time. I have to be in stop and go traffic on my work commute. With all this, I still get 20-21 mpg according to my computer.

Sounds like me. My tach sees 5k+ ALL the time.

Btw, braking HARD actually makes your pads last longer

I did get about 28-29 mpg doing pure freeway cruising at an average of 90.... with extended periods of 100+ when I could to vegas...

Keep in mind so-cal to vegas is a net uphill trip.

2 tripr from Middle Tn, to the ATL. Got 23-24 per gallon on both trips, driving somewhat spiritedly (90+ a few stretches). Some ATL traffic to deal with.
I use only 93 octane. I notice a big difference when i us 89 - so i dont anymore.
Car runs better (at least it seems it does) and the mileage is noticeably better.
350-375 miles per fill up- usually between 17 and 18 gallons.
ATL trip -got 404 miles to the tank on 17.5 gallons =23+ on that tank.
I love driving this car...especially from 65 mph up to 80 - 90 mph. SOmetimes, admittedly even 110-115 (when traffic and view allows.)

Well distance wise, it seems about right.... 500+km... per tank I drive from Ottawa to Toronto is 400+ and I can still drive around town till I need to fill up.

I do not know if the website I am using is converting wrong but thats the numbers it gives me. 20mpg works to about 11 to 12 L/100km.. and my nav sys is telling me I am doing at its best 15 L/100km and usually 20 or more..

Question: this mileage thing.. r u going by what the nav system area tells you or the dot matrix thing.. r they the same and is the nav system thing contingent upon your setting n re-setting the thing correctly...i.e u reset when you are at empty and filling a new tank of gas...
