Which sedan should I buy?. . . need help quick, buying tomorrow!

Hello People,

New to the site, first post. I'm looking to buy an '08 G35 sedan tomorrow. I've read about the manual and am a little concerned about clutch/tranny issues. I really like stick cars but I'm going to keep the car a minimum of 10 years and would like good long term reliablility.

Should I go stick or auto based on the above?

Thanks in advance.

What issues are you worried about sepcifically?

If you like driving a stick, then get the stick! There's not huge issue I know of that would justify getting an auto if that's not what you want.

Get the stick since you really like manuals. There's no guarantee that the automatic is going to be any more reliable than the manual. In fact, I had auto transmissions fail in my 87 Maxima and 90 300ZX. On the otherhand, I did not have any issues with my manual 94 G20t and 91 300ZXTT.

Yeah the 07 clutch recall fixed all my complaints with the stick. Go with manual; you'll regret buying auto.

I would get the manual. I do miss my 05 6MT, but Infiniti refuses to make a G35xS 6MT!

If you live in a location where you get alot of snows, go for the X.

Well, snow tires work well - very well - on the RWD models. I chose to replace my 6MT with the xS because of reasons beyond snow.

I have the six speed and I have no problems so far. I like the wheels and front bumper on the S model more than the Journey. Get stick!

If that's the case, definitely get yourself a 6MT.

Once you grab the stick, you'll never let it go. Wait, that didn't sound right

If you enjoy driving manual, go for it. There's nothing worse than driving something you consider boring.

Go with your priorities. I'm sure a test drive of both will make you certain which route you will take.

You mentioned that you want to keep the car ten years. So, slow down, drive each a couple of times and the best choice for you will become clear. No matter what, the well meaning folks here can't make the decision for you.

Also, if you wait another week, you can probably save a few hundred just by buying at the end of the month. Sales are slow now and dealers really want to close a deal to juice their numbers. The finance and lease rates are terrific, too.

Have you tried an automatic sport model with the paddle shifters yet? I'm not a stick guy but really love the fun factor that my Journey exhibits, too.
