Steering wheel coating is flaking off
Not sure if flaking is the best word for it. It actually looks like someone scratched the rubbery coating off on different spots on my steering wheel, but I'm the only one who drives the car, and I know I didn't do it. My suspicion is that the coating is cracking from sunlight/dryness or something like that. Haven't been in to the dealership to try to get something done about it yet, but I figured I'd see if anyone else has noticed a similar issue.
It could be your dead skin cells or dirt.
The stitchings around my steering wheel started turning white so I took a damp napkin and rubbed it... and what do you know, its brown. lol.
It's been fine ever since.

for a car with higher quality interior, most of the time, higher levels of cleaning/maintainence is needed. every 3-6 months, use leather conditioner on the leather surfaces, dash/int needs i thorough conditioning, floormats/apolestry needs shampooing and vacuuming, lastly the paint needs a claybar and wax once a year.
your car will still in better than new condition for years if you follow this.
