my 06 g was totalled about 5 months ago and it was only a frontal hit but was a total loss.

to whoeevr said airbags dont mean anything, please, please, go to body shops and ask around. or a geico/liberty mutual/nissan rep. deployement of airbags messes up sterring wheel, interior roof lining, front seats which are a pretty penny in themselves. side modlings, etc. the car can be salvaged if airbags go off but i doubt it with g35's.

also, the frame is bent. forget about it. theyd have to pull the motor to see real frame damage and that in itself is a sh*tload of money. its called an RNI, remove and install.

i recently went through this so im not talking out of my butt. if they dont declare total, fight it. you do NOT want to be driving that around anymore. tell the insurance company you dont feel safe, blah blah blah

I never said the deployment of airbag mean nothing it does not mean a guarantee for the insurance company to write off a total loss for a car. Let give you an example my coworker's acura tsx. She hit a car that lost control of his car spinning out from the third lane on to the left lane.( she was going 65 mph) Her car clipped his rear both airbags deployed, the other persons car was totaled. The car was tweaked bad, her car was not a total loss her bill came out to be $14000 worth of damage to her car. It was less then 70% then what her car is worth. The insurance company fixed the car never felt the same and traded it in for a Jeep. It all comes down to money like I said before. You can rant and rave all you want if the insurance company thinks it will save money and fix the car they will. I am not trying sound like I know everything it is just fact. Alot of the information I have said is coming from first hand body shops, and insurance adjusters.

i understand. i guess im just so used to living down here where its all about the people you know. so my car was going to be totalled wehther it was 15k or 25k worth of damage because i did not feel safe. although, i do believe IF ALL airbags deploy (seat ones are costly), frame is bent, motor is shifted, and they have to perform an RNI, its totalled. if not, you got a hell of a car or a SOB adjuster.

That's great news. You wouldn't want it back after that.

What are you going to get to replace your G?
