Roughly how much would I lose if I trade my car in?

I have a 08 G35xS that is fully loaded. I havnt had the car that long so I only have 400 miles on the car right now. Its a liquid platinum with graphite interior and the car is in the same condition as the day it left the showroom floor. I spent 700 getting the clearbra done on the car the same week i picked the car up. I recently read the 09 G35 thread and when I heard about the 3.7 engine, 7spd transmission, cooled seats etc... it made me want to trade my car for a 09. In your opinions how much would i lose out of my pocket if i went to trade this car in for a 09 later this year?

Off the lot, you're already looking at about $3~4,000 hit. By the time 09 hits the showroom, you'd probably expect to lose anywhere from 7~10 grand. An used 07 sedan fully loaded with roughly 10~15K miles sell for under 30K right now... so do the math.

Stick with what you have man. Are those 2009 specs official? Or based on speculation? You'd loose alot of coin on the trade in. Enjoy your 08 for what it is. There is always something better around the corner.

I would not trade it in.. honestly... isnt enough difference for me... the transmission is new and so is the engine... and nissan isnt great with their engines (please dont flame me for this)

They have had the 2.5 Altima engines and their 3.5VQ engines going bad the first few revisions they have had.

Not only will you lose several thousand on trade, but also when you buy a new model when it is just put into the showroom the dealers aren't going to give as good of a deal. Enjoy your '08 G35xS for a year.

you don't have to have the latest baddest model, you know.. Jeez.. talk about not having self control...

i want this, i want that.. golly jeez.. if you can afford it do it... but from a financial aspect, it's a stupid dumb immature move... Sorry to sound so harsh but truth hurts sometimes.. Shrug....

TRADE IN to dealer? I think you will lose about $10 to 15K.

Trade-in last year's model for the brand-new version, at the dealer? Bend over - I'd say $10k minimum. You might have a better shot selling it private, but if I were you, would happily stick with the G for an extra year.

If you're really concerned, check for mag reviews of the G37 - the coupe is no faster than the sedan, so are you thinking the sedan will be...? Maybe a couple of tenths due to the tranny...

I'm planning on happily keeping my G for another couple of years, then trading for whatever the newest toy is (I saw a BMW 550 the other day that looked pretty cool... )
