Thanks for the tip! I never noticed the handle inside the trunk before. I tried it today and it works great!

Usually.

I've had my trunk replaced (rear ended by an SUV) and it's even worse now.

Mine doesn't need slammed at all. I pull down on the inside handle with a normal amount of force and it closes fine.

Mine does not need to be slammed, but it is a PITA to open. Needs to be lifted instead of just opening up when you press the trunk release. Could be because I have a spoiler and that adds weight I guess.

What handle are you guys talking about? I hope it isnt the emergency glow in the dark release handle.

i know i have to slam it well, becuase every so often the damm thing opens on its own, or seems to not have shut. Its quite anoying to have to stop somewhere cause the light in the center gauge goes off saying the trunk is AJAR!

Nope, without the spoiler it has to be lifted, too, and Infiniti's brilliant engineers left NO PLACE at all to grab and lift it. Grabbing the bottom lip to lift is indeed dumb. Good thing I like the rest of the car so much!

Open the trunk all the way. There is a grab/finger recess right of center near the lower edge of the trunk lid.
With practice you can use it to close the trunk.

I have to say this is my first Infiniti but it's also the first car I've had that requires the owener to practice a technique to close the trunk. I've only had this car for a couple weeks but is seems like they had the "A" team of engineers on some parts of the car and others were outsourced to the lowest bidder.

You don't have to practice anything. This 'technique' is just for the many who hate to even put their finger prints on the chrome. If you're less concerned about that you can just put your hand on the top of the trunk and push down just like any other car.

I think people are talking about the latch with black plastic/rubber cover, not the emergency pull cable handle.

LOL, a technique???

Grab the inside handle on the right hand side of the trunk and pull down with very little effort. Is that the technique you are missing?

What's the issue here??
