2008 G35- how to clean cup holder

In my other cars, it is relatively easy to remove the entire cup holder and then wash it clean from little spills, etc.

How does one clean the G35 cup holder as it is a trap for any dirt or spills that get into it. PITA to use glass cleaner and rags as I try and chase every spec of dirt.

On my 07 5AT, I remove the cup holder liner, clean that and use compressed air to blowout the rest.

LOL I don't think there is nothing wrong with having a bottle of water or cup of Java.

BUT

Believe it or not some people actually smoke in their cars

Pg 2-46 in the 2007 G35 Sedan owners manual
Auto-Trans
To open the cup holder, push the lid.
The flap will be folded down when inserting
a large container.
To remove the inner tray for cleaning, pull
it up as illustrated.

I don't think the MT's have this tray removal feature...it's illustrated different in the owners manual.

Very good point, I am only familiar with the A/T equiped cars. In the owners manual it does look like only the A/T cars have lift out cup holders.

Perhaps som M/T owners can elaborate.

The tiny cup holder(s) in the MT (just behind the shifter) cannot be removed - it has no liner or anything like what you have in AT.

MT also has a cup holder inside (of all places) the center console
That can be removed - though there is no way you can use it as a real cup holder to begin with !

As long as the car is new, I try to enforce a "no food or drink" rule inside the car (water is the lone exception).
