Awd

I am lazy to research on this but I have an 08 G35X, I believe the car is 100% RWD unless if the AWD feature is required. Since I got my car a week ago, I am not going to use the AWD at least for the next 9 months. That means the AWD feature is going to be collecting spider webs for that time. Will this not affect it, i.e. it might stop working. I know this apocalyptic scenario is unlikely to play out like that but I am just using it to illustrate my point better

it will not affect it...engineers are very pessimistic people that try to find the bad in everything to avoid overlooked problems. you'll be okay

If you don't use the search feature for 9 months, it will still work ok in the future

Seriously, don't worry about it. AWD will be fine. Plus, your warranty is good for a while.

g35x
and you always start from a stop in awd. 75/25 rear/front all the time; 50/50 rear/front w/snow button on. over 12mph you're then rwd until the car decides you're slipping.

Thanks for that information. I as wondering when it is engaged and when it is not.

So it is 50/50 all the time when the snow button is on? Is this still true over 12 mph? Also, is there a limit on what speed I can drive with the snow button on?

50/50 (i.e the snow button on) is engaged to 12 mph, then your car reverts back to 75/25. So drive as fast as you would like with the snow button on, or off - it doesn't matter.
