I feel a big part of the G fuel usage is due to their keeping the revs much higher than competitors. At any comparable speed I find my TL-S revs about 400+ RPM lower than a G. At 50-55MPH my TL-S revs at aroun 1500-1800 RPM the G is well over 2000RPM closer to 2400.
that has much to do with the 5-speed transmission that is currently in the G and how its tuned. as far as I know, the 7 speed should allow the gear ratios to be better and allow for lower RPMs at highway speeds and thus better gas mileage.

i wouldn't wait for the 09 if you want the car now,
it's like waiting for the next gen computer with all the doodads, you'll be waiting forever

even though it's out in other markets, the 3.7L 'may' not be in the u.s model in 09, same thing goes for the 7 speed, it seems like it is, but imagine if it doesn't, that's just time wasted waiting around

even if it does come with 3.7L and 7sp, i doubt you'll see magical gains in power and fuel economy, and i have a feeling price for the car is most likely going to go up

my opinion is, if you're in the market to buy, now is a great time, interest rates may go up in the future, and so may the 09 model as well

This is funny story.

I bought my G35 07 sedan Journey same time as my cusin purchased his TL X? whatever they called.

We bought almost same price but he got it fully loaded with Nav, rims, back up camera you named it he got it.

On mine only Journey package etc. whatever it comes with but do you know what seal the deal on G35? vs TL? even my cusin admitted that the engine and driving exp. was out off the world. G35 engine and acceleration just..flat out awesome. True you can get more with TL but pimp out factor?

G35 wins this is just my bias opinion hah.

Acura TL is a joke. It's a Honda Accord. FRONT wheel drive! It's a sedan trying to be sporty but the lack of rear wheel drive automatically disqualifies it from any contention. It's 70% made in U.S.A.

G35 is a 4 door 350Z. It's a sports car made into a sedan. It's 98% Japan made! The mechanical v-limited slip differential or VLSD on the sport version is awesome on crazy turns.

My 2 cents.
