Clear Plastic on Car Trim. Should it be there?

OK, I was putting the license plates on my car tonight and noticed some clear plastic stuck on the body trim immediately behind the bottom trailing edge of the rear door. The plastic is on both side, exactly the same shape. My question is does the plastic belong there?

I recall seeing some of this plastic being stuck on the front spoiler (which I took off since it didn't look like it belonged on the spoiler) but am hesitant to take it off the body trim I mentioned above unless I know for sure it doesn't belong there.

i'm pretty sure that is a factory installed clear bra, since that is a spot where scratches occur due to frequent use... don't remove it

Hmm. As I mentioned in the first post on this thread, I saw the exact same plastic on the spoiler. The plastic was in 2-3 irregular pieces on the spoiler, so I took it off. Are you implying Infiniti put a clear bra on the spoiler too?

The clear tape on the front is to protect during loading and unloading while in transit to the dealers from the factory, it can come off.

The clear plastic ahead of both rear wheels is a chip guard put there by the factory and should be left there, don't take it off.
